I did notice a comment about one of the baths, which I understand, but the water quality was still excellent and very soothing. The property is well kept & we experienced warm, Japanese hospitality - from lunch recommendations, snowball toys, to free flow drinks at the lobby and room. We loved Shibu Onsen town & Shibu hotel made it all the more special. The Onsen was great especially during winter. "

"I really enjoyed my stay, however getting there was challenging, and I couldn't find the email to ask questions on their website. I ultimately took a risk and was able to hop on a bus from Karuizawa, but online it mentions no reservations for buses, and I could not find that there even was one to the resort. If their email had been listed (and perhaps it is not due to an internet issue through the US), I'd have had less stress getting there. Otherwise, I only recommend others research more before going here so they know the customs more - tattoos are not allowed, and I had to book the private onsen."
