Whale Watch is a beautiful, top-floor, two-bedroom, two-bathroom, oceanfront condo located in the contemporary Durant Station Condominiums in Hatteras Village. The home is complete with a private oceanfront deck and fantastic views. View the beach from Hatteras Inlet to the point at Buxton! Enjoy direct beach access via the community boardwalk, a well-equipped kitchen with solid-surface counters, DirecTV with HBO, a DVR, DVD players, and a sound-side deck for viewing spectacular sunsets. On the ground level, you'll find a large fish-cleaning station, grills, and picnic tables.

Just grab a luggage cart from the first-floor coin-operated laundry facility and roll your luggage to your condo door. Additional community amenities include high-speed internet and free WiFi, a community pool (available May to Labor Day), a hot tub (available from April to November), and an outdoor shower. The Durant Station Community Center is topped by the historic tower from the original Durant Lifesaving Station. This is the ideal location for corporate meetings, wedding parties, or for enjoying the space with family and friends. This area boasts a first-floor sitting room with a large flatscreen TV, an electric fireplace (available November to March), and an upper-level game room with a pool table and a complete kitchen.

You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking, which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice.

Amazing!

We had never been to the OBX and had no clue where to stay and stumbled upon this condo. It was perfect! Loved the location. Beaches were not crowded at all. After doing some research we found plenty of places to have dinner. Condo was super clean, views were amazing. Perfect for our vacation! We will definitely be back :)

Whale watch was clean, easily accessible via car and elevator. The view was awesome. The only thing it needed was an extra set of towels and wash clothes. It was a really nice place.

What a view from the 3rd floor!

We paid for the gorgeous Atlantic view! Close walk to the beach. Balcony furniture was comfortable. Very thankful for the elevator and luggage carts. Cons: Unit could have been a little cleaner, esp floors and shower curtain liner. Musty smell in front bedroom. Dirty pans in kitchen. Otherwise good accommodation.

Overall good. No response to no wifi and disgusting pot and pans. Could not route on 3 diff. devices

I thought the place wasn't real big, but just big enough. The beds were squishy, but very comfortable. The a/c rocked...it was much needed too. The pool is small but the access to the awesome beach was nice. You baked in the elevator, no ventilation, and it was slow getting to the third floor. There weren't enough towels and they were tiny. I'll be paying out the wazoo for extra data because the wifi didn't work on our 3 different devices. You could connect but, you couldn't route. I left 3 messages only to have 1 call back telling me which name to connect to. I already knew that part. The last day of the week, it all of the sudden worked, with no notification from management. Overall, it was nice. But, the most diturbing part, (esp. Since this place was very expensive), was the condition of the pot and pan set. It was burnt through to the point of dark brown and scratched super bad. Every piece of the mixed match set was disgusting. Again, I called and left another message. But, no call backs. One note was left on a tip envelope telling us who cleaned our room, before we got there. I wrote my own note saying it would have been nice to have seen or met you. We were on our own for everything. The beach made up for a lot. Overall, the place itself was nice. But, I think it was overpriced, especially with the mentioned issues. To me, these items were extremely preventable with proper maintenance and management. The price is high for what we got. Btw, try dining at Dinky's. And, a must, on your was home, is the best Seafood Buffet. Look up Captain George's.

Brittany has done a fantastic job of creating a cozy and convenient space for those traveling to enjoy the beach. The kitchen is fully outfitted with all the necessary kitchen tools and cutlery. The space is well organized, neat and super clean. The master bedroom is large with a king size bed which unfortunately is a bit saggy. Plenty of blankets and pillows. We loved the sliding glass doors to the balcony off the master bedroom and living room. We kept them open every night to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Master bath is spacious with double sinks and plenty of towels. Rooms are spacious (second bedroom smaller than master) and well laid out. The elevator is conveniently located in the center of the building and luggage racks are offered. Parking is convenient in both front and back of the building with easy access to stairwells which are located on either end of the building. Views from the front balcony/walk way is of Hatteras and towards the Sound. Great sunrises from the back balcony and sunsets from the front . If the winds are strong off the water, we simply sat in the front to enjoy our meals on the outdoor furniture. The overall facility is quiet, the staff was always friendly and available to assist if needed. Laundry facility is conveniently located on the 1st floor with a balcony and chairs to continue enjoying the ocean. Be sure to visit the Dancing Turtle for coffee and pastries in the morning. It was a great experience to sit around with the Natives and Locals and get to know the personality of Hatteras.

"The good life"

If you asked if this was Heaven? I would have say close but its Hatteras! We arrived at night from a long drive from New York, so we hit the hay early and woke to the sounds and smells of Beach life on the Outer banks. Our condo had all the essentials and comforts of home! This vacation was just what the doctor ordered!, We got familiar quickly with the area and found a few great dinner spots with great food and ambience. Our greatest memory of this vacation was our niece got engaged on the beach and we were there to witness the moment!. We most definetly will be back next year as we are addicted to the life on the Outer Banks! Jimmy & Janie
