「What a beautiful hotel. I stayed in a superior double which was very well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, plenty of storage space, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and excellent tea and coffee, biscuits and water. The owners were very friendly and made me feel most welcome. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was delicious. You would never go hungry. The air conditioning was a real bonus, although unfortunately it did drip a little water on the floor. My only other niggles...

「The Old Bakehouse was a lovely homely place to stay, and the village of Colyton is in a pretty and convenient location to visit several attractions in the area, go to the beach, cycle or hike. Fiona and Steve were excellent, very helpful, and hospitable hosts. 「Wonderful period property, all modern conveniences, comfortable beds, luxury bedding, spotlessly clean. Situated just off the high street with secure on site parking, and within walking distance of various eating establishments. Website is easy to use, and informative, covers everything you need to know about the property and local area. Jamie & Gary are fabulous hosts. Highly recommend this establishment.」

「The cooked breakfast was very good but the coffee was weak. The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was motel style with guest access at the back of the property and lead out onto a road where you take a path between houses to get round to the front of the building and the car park. The owners did let us take a short cut through the pub upon check-in and check-out. The bed was comfortable and the water was hot but there was mould on the bathtub tiles and on the curtains in the bathroom...

「Approached down the sort of steep, narrow and winding lane that makes urbanites nervous, the hotel has a mercifully spacious carpark. Our room was very comfortable. The restaurant was good, and the waiting staff exceptional. Can't really comment on the local amenities: our short visit coincided with very high winds whipping the sea into massive waves so the beach was dramatic and sadly inhospitable.」
