"The staff was nice. Themission of the historic building turns hotel, is to maintain a relaxing vibe, so no television, no refrigerator, no elevators. Climate control was efficient. A problem was with checking out and their confusion on how to handle a booking that is paid for through Hotels com. Supposedly, it is a new computer system and they'll fix it. So far I'm out close to $180 on top of the amount charged to my cc by Hotels dot com. I have brought it to their attention and will hopefully...

"The gas fireplaces are fantastic! Found everything we needed to cook and serve several meals for our group of 6. The selection of places to "porch sit" was really enjoyable. We brought our own cushions for the outdoor seats & that was worth doing. Hot tub felt so relieving. Loved the hammock, great steps and path to the lake! A little tight getting around the kitchen table, but we made it work. Sunsets from the upper deck (main level) are spectacular! Sooo many stars on a clear night. Not far from a gas station & a dollar Gen but feels like completely rural. Also loved the individual heaters in the downstairs bedrooms. Check out was pleasantly easy. Would love to stay in this house again!"

"This mountain house was absolutely incredible! The pictures truly don’t do it justice. It was even more beautiful in person. The views were unbelievable, and the whole house was so peaceful, cozy, and welcoming. We loved every minute of our stay and honestly didn’t want to leave. We would absolutely stay here again!"

"Very clean with modern amenities. It was a short weekend for us, and we were disappointed to not have time for the sauna... It looked amazing!The Wi-Fi struggled, but the host left HDMI cables in case you brought downloaded movies from your computer (they also have a DVD player and several DVD options). Regardless, my verizon hotspot allowed for seamless entertainment.We had a stormy weekend so considering the location is on a hill, 4x4 was not necessarily required, but it did come in very handy as we noticed some of our non-4x4 neighbors struggling.We did not bring a pet but did note the fantastic fenced in area along with a supplied water bowl, towel, and pet bed for a small to mid-sized companion.While feeling very remote, the location was only 15 minutes from downtown Sylva.To summarize, it was a beautiful stay!"

"We enjoyed our visit to Mark's tipi. The setting is quiet and tranquil and the tipi is very cool with super comfy king size bed. Lots of neat stuff to look at in the tipi. Mark is an excellent host who greeted us at check in and responded quickly throughout our stay. My favorite part was star gazing on the hammock. This is a unique stay if you're looking for something different to do."
