About this property
Hayward Nelson Lake Cabin with Dock, Kayaks, and Pontoon Rental Available Onsite
Wake up near the water, grab a cup of coffee, and start your day on Nelson Lake.
Our two-bedroom cabin is a comfortable Northwoods getaway just 10 minutes from downtown Hayward, Wisconsin. It’s a great fit for couples, families, fishing trips, and small groups looking for an easy lake vacation with plenty to experience right outside the door.
Spend your mornings kayaking or fishing, your afternoons exploring Nelson Lake, and your evenings grilling dinner and relaxing around the fire.
Want to spend even more time on the water? We offer an on-site pontoon rental exclusively for our cabin guests. No hauling a boat from home or spending part of your vacation coordinating a rental somewhere else. Reserve it for the days you’d like it and have your pontoon waiting right at the property.
THE CABIN
The cabin comfortably accommodates up to six guests and includes:
• Two bedrooms • Queen bed • Bunk beds • Lay-flat couch for additional sleeping space • Full bathroom • Fully equipped kitchen • Comfortable living area • Air conditioning • WiFi and Smart TV • Covered paver patio • Gas grill • Outdoor fire pit • Kayaks • Lake and dock access
THE NELSON LAKE EXPERIENCE
Nelson Lake offers more than 2,700 acres of water to explore. Spend the day fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, northern pike, and walleye; take the kayaks out; swim, tube, waterski, or simply cruise the lake.
Some days, though, you may not want to do much.
Start your morning with coffee and a lake view. Grill lunch or dinner outside. Grab a chair and relax. End the evening around the fire.
Sometimes the best lake days are the ones without much of a schedule.
ON-SITE PONTOON RENTAL
One of the things that makes staying here especially convenient is the opportunity to rent our pontoon right on site.
There’s no need to trailer a boat from home or drive somewhere else to pick up and return a rental. Simply reserve the pontoon for the days you’d like it and enjoy having it available right at the property.
Pontoon rental is optional, offered separately from your cabin reservation, and subject to availability. We recommend asking about availability when booking your stay.
Bringing your own boat? A dock slip is available for $50 per day in place of renting our pontoon. We’ll request your boat registration number prior to your stay for watercraft verification.
10 MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN HAYWARD
You can enjoy the peace of a Northwoods lake getaway without being isolated from everything Hayward has to offer.
Downtown Hayward is about 10 minutes away, making it easy to head into town for restaurants, shopping, groceries, ice cream, drinks, and local events before returning to the cabin and lake.
MORE THAN A SUMMER DESTINATION
There’s plenty to experience beyond Nelson Lake.
The Fish Hatchery Trailhead and Mosquito Brook Trail are approximately 8–10 miles away and offer opportunities for hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
The Hayward area is also known for its extensive ATV/UTV and snowmobile trail systems, making the cabin a great home base for a Northwoods riding weekend. We recommend checking current trail conditions, seasonal openings, and access routes before your trip.
Coming to Hayward for an event? The area hosts incredible events year-round, including the American Birkebeiner, Lumberjack World Championships, Chequamegon MTB Festival, fishing tournaments, and other seasonal events.
Fall brings beautiful Northwoods colors and cool evenings around the fire. Winter opens the door to skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and an entirely different side of Hayward.
A PRIVATE PLACE TO UNWIND
The cabin is part of a private HOA community that shares the property with a seasonal campground. While other owners and seasonal guests live in the community, the cabin offers great privacy and a wonderfully peaceful setting.
Guests have access to the lake, kayaks, and shared dock. We share the dock with our neighboring property.
We want you to enjoy your vacation without interruption. We’ll give you the privacy to relax and make the cabin your own during your stay, but we’re always just a message or phone call away if you need something.
Whether you’re planning a family lake vacation, couples getaway, fishing trip, ATV/UTV adventure, snowmobile weekend, Hayward event weekend, or simply need a few quiet days away, this is an easy home base for experiencing the Northwoods.
Come with a full itinerary or no itinerary at all.
Both work pretty well here.
