Our family of three humans + three pups absolutely loved this simple cabin & its serene location. End of the lane privacy, walkout to dock & lake, evening fires, screened porch. Teal Lake is so beautiful! Great for paddling & fishing.
We were well taken care of by staff & are planning to return next summer.
My family had a great time here. The lake is beautiful, we spent a lot of time on it - kayaking, swimming, fishing. The cabin was nice and clean and we had a good amount of privacy. Kids had the bunkbed room which was nice, because they could hang out in there while my wife and I had couple relax in the living room. I recommend!
We had an amazing time (Wife, 2 boys, 2 dogs & myself). The Hosts were friendly, accommodating and there when we needed. The Cabin was perfect and we loved being so close to the lake and having the pontoon boat to fish, cruise & explore the islands on Teal Lake. A must needed getaway from the hustle & bustle of city life. We will definitely be back!!!

Great fishing, quiet lake, friendly staff
We really enjoyed staying here and will likely come back. This was our first fishing trip with the boys and it was fantastic! Fish were biting, Tim was super friendly, cabin was comfortable, and the lake was great for the kids and us. This is a quiet lake, so no jet skis to contend with while we were on the lake. Very quiet, very beautiful, very serene. Oh, and we did rent the pontoon for our stay which we really enjoyed!
our stay was beyond memorable. The staff were very hospitable and made our stay at Back o Beyond Resort one for the books! Big shout out to the following staff: Erin, Connor, Miles, Jo; they were wonderful. Thank you for letting our family spend an amazing week in cabin #11. We will definitely be back again.
Your guests,
Bruce, Ashley, Chase, Chloie and Penny Jensen
Cabin and boat rental were easy as can be. Joe was very responsive to our questions. The cabin and surrounding area was perfect for our kids - with plenty to do at the beach, trails, etc. we really loved that the water was so accessible with no weeds and stuff. The kids could get right in at the dock. The lake was beautiful and quiet… complete with eagles and loons! We will definitely be coming back.
My family really enjoyed our time here. The cabin was well stocked and very clean. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the lake from every room including the screen porch. We liked that we had our own private dock and our own bonfire pit. Boat rental was very easy and affordable and they had kayaks that are free to use. The wifi worked well, so the kids could stream stuff (when they were't swimming or exploring) and I could stay on top of work stuff that came up. I'd recommend doing a picnic on a couple of the islands - they are really cool to explore. We just really had a great time and hope to be back soon. THANKS!

GREAT PLACE !!!
This was a four day men's fishing weekend and the cabin and setting was perfect. Cabin was clean and well equipped for cooking and relaxing. We were blessed with great weather, went swimming and played cards on the screened in porch at night and cruised and fished with the pontoon boat during the day. Bald eagles, loons and deer were seen daily. Tim, our host, was most hospitable and helped us get settled and gave us a great recommendation for a place with dinner and music up the road. We stayed until closing.
I would highly recommend staying there if you are looking for a place to get away, relax and enjoy the north woods. I intend on coming back with my wife, daughter and dogs.
For the most part, we loved our stay. Joe the property manager was right there for the few issues we had when we arrived. The only issue we had was that we wished the property was cleaner. We were the first ones there for the season and there were areas that looked like they hadn’t been touched since last fall when they closed it up. The fan above they kitchen table was, well, filthy. Other than that, it was the perfect quiet getaway with good fishing and excellent scenery. You can’t beat the quiet lakes for a relaxing vacation.
Turns out that this cabin is part of a resort. The place was clean, and the property manager was wonderful to deal with. We will rent from them again in the future.
Very quiet and isolated, beautiful area and lake with loons and eagles. Nice cabin with direct tv and internet.
Did not use ceiling fan because blades very dirty.
Pontoon boat - radio, lights, depth finder did not work
Even though the weather was not cooperating during most of our stay, we enjoyed the tranquility of Teal Lake very much. Great views from the cabin. Connor and Tim were accommodating and helpful. We weren't there to fish, only to enjoy the solitude and nature. Lovely location. Would definitely return.
Very very remote, which was okay with us, but could have been shocking to some. Narrow single car rutted very curvy gravel/dirt road to reach destination. Delivery truck ahead of us made us glad it wasn't coming towards us! Car wash definitely in our car's future.
Teal lake is beautiful. It's quiet and relaxed, with islands to explore. This particular cabin suited us really well. Loved that the screened in porch faced the lake. Added bonus - they have Pontoons to rent for the week that are docked right at the cabin for you. Definitely not a new build, but we wouldn't want that anyway. We liked that it was an older traditional cabin, based in a resort, that's been updated over time.
Clean, cute and comfortable cabin, with everything we needed. Perfect for our family of 4. Excellent fishing right off the pier, swimming, and WIFI, made our 15 & 11 year olds very happy.
Owners were wonderful, helpful, and gave us the privacy we desired. Teal Lake is beautiful, with great fishing, and most importantly.... quiet. We will definitely be returning in the future to this wonderful property.
Property was beautiful, great view! Property manager was excellent. Mosquitoes were bad and fishing was slow due to cold spring, but picked up second week!

Great cabin on a beautiful, private lake!
My family and I had a great time at this amazing cabin on Teal Lake! Very private, quiet and the scenery is beautiful! We took advantage of the resort trails and boat rentals as well. The trails are scenic and the pontoon boat was well kept and roomy for the four of us and our dog. We will be coming back again next year! Thanks for a great stay and highly recommend!

Nice cabin, right on the water
This cabin is the last one at the edge of a very small and remote resort. Very quiet, right at waters edge, and wooded on two sides. The lake is very quiet and peaceful, due to a 10mph speed limit, which keeps water skiers and jet skis away. Very good fishing, due to low fishing pressure. It is a bit of a drive to Hayward at close to 30 minutes, but there are a few services closer for basic needs. In summary, a great option if you are looking for quiet and remote.

Relax and de-stress
What a great week we had! It was so peaceful and relaxing! Early mornings watching the otter eating breakfast off the shore in front of our cabin. Loons on the lake, fishing from the dock kept our grand kids (and us) busy. We rented a pontoon from them and took boat rides and fished. Nice sandy beach for the kids. This cabin was part of an old resort which now rents out a few cabins. The beach is shared by all but it is plenty big. Our cabin had it's own dock which will acomodate 2 boats. We loved the screen porch. The cabin is older but the furniture is new. The kitchen was well equipped. This cabin has 2 bedrooms and we had plenty of room and closets/drawers for storage.
The owner Joe was very quick to meet any need that came up during the week. Hayward has plenty to do if that's to your liking. It's 25 minutes away with a wonderful grocery store. If you need WI FI you have to walk to the office to connect. We WILL be back!

A real winner!
This was a wonderful cabin on an awesome lake! Hosts were excellent! The cabin was the perfect size for our family of four, and would sleep a slightly larger party comfortably. The surrounding grounds were well maintained and the dock area offered excellent fishing! We had the opportunity to rent a boat and there was a very nice sandy beach area that we were allowed to use at the adjacent resort. We would definitely stay again!

Relaxing Getaway
My husband and I went on a relaxing week vacation the first week in June. The cabin was just as we hoped right on the lake with beautiful views. Tim and Joe were great hosts and accommodating to our needs and questions. Would love to stay again in the future and would recommend it to others.

Perfect getaway from city life
Rolled the dice on a waterfront cabin this week and came up a winner! This rental was everything we were looking for and more. The property is nestled away on teal lake in the middle of a national forest. The scenery from our screened in porch was enough to make us want to return! The cabin sits about 50 feet from the lake. We enjoyed our morning coffee watching loons diving for fish and bald eagles in flight! There are a couple trails into the woods right behind the cabin that we walked daily also. The trail was very walkable (probably manicured for snowmobiles I'm guessing), which made for some great exploring with our pups. The forest was beautiful off the trail, looked untouched, with shades of green I've never seen before. Dont forget your bug spray though! The staff at the resort were great. They helped us get settled in, provided us with a few essentials we overlooked, and then disappeared until we took a walk down to the lodge, where Joe joined us for a cocktail and provided us with a lake map and some fishing tips! We appreciated the seclusion we were provided, but was also good to know they were available whenever we needed anything! In front of lodge was a beach they welcomed us to use, which my wife was glued to our last couple days. The set up was perfect and we will be returning!

Not exactly as advertised
The cottage itself was very nice, clean and well supplied (oddly only 3 chairs for the kitchen table). The furniture is nice; the kitchen is well stocked with utensils; there is a Weber grill, a nice firepit and plenty of outdoor seating. Like most of the VRBOs we've used, there is inadequate lighting in the living spaces.
However the property could use a little TLC. ie. removal of open and empty paint cans from the wood pile area, possible use of a trimmer and general clean up especially around the office. The initial impression is "seedy." ( If I were feeling kind I would attribute the condition to the end of the season, but truly it is it more like rundown.) The VRBO ad doesn't say it is part of a resort (which it is), but it does indicate that a pontoon is available for rental. While there is a pontoon (pretty old and scruffy), it was not in running condition. We are two couples in our seventies and had hoped to be able to take a cruise on the lake. The row boat provided had oars that had definitely seen better days.
On the plus side, Tim was very accommodating and everyone very friendly and nice. I guess it just wasn't what I was expecting.
