The flowers and garden on the property are stunning in spring, summer and fall. But if you are interested in a winter or holiday treat you can snuggle up and get cozy around a fireplace and in the warmth of friends and family. The home and land really draw you in. FLAT ROCK and HENDERSONVILLE ARE REMARKABLE HISTORIC TOWNS
Within a couple of miles of the home is the town of Flat Rock, home to the Flat Rock Playhouse (the North Carolina State Theater), and the Carl Sandburg Home. Carl Sandburg was Abraham Lincoln's biographer, a U.S. Poet Laureate, and a well known musician and journalist. The Playhouse puts on Broadway plays to packed out audiences throughout the year. The Carl Sandburg Home is operated by the National Park Service and has tours of the home (which was left just as it was when he died), extensive hiking trails, and a running goat farm.
If you blink, you might miss adorable downtown Flat Rock, which is on the Historic Register. It has it's own gems including a wood-fired pizza/bakery, bbq restaurant, ice cream shop, fine art gallery, it's own Flat Rock Cinema theatre, and many other shops and.
Flat Rock is just minutes from downtown Hendersonville where you can find more shops and galleries. Main Street in Hendersonville is on the Historic Register. You will be very pleasantly surprised by the many excellent restaurants the area has to offer.
