Ryokans in Herrera

"My husband and I only stopped overnight. We were confused about their one star rating. Anyone who has traveled knows the difference between a 1 star and 5 star. This is of course not a 5 star place. But i would say a solid 3 star. The rooms were clean, air-conditioned, the pool was clean, the staff was friendly and kind and helpful. We had dinner at La Mandolina that was the best food we've had in panama to date. Was there road noise. Yes...to whoever complained about this in other reviews. The hotel sits directly on the PanAmerican highway....so ya know cars and trucks equal road noise. I would totally stay here again. "

"It was my third time at this Riu and I always recommend it to everyone. I traveled with my 3 small kids and they loved the Infinity pool. I used RiuLand as much as I could. The kids loved spending time in the childcare. Lucas and Alvin were great bartenders at Limon Bar. I also recommend getting a spanish coffee and going to see the sunrise"

"I’m writing this review after staying at this hotel twice, and unfortunately, my experience has been consistently disappointing. The food is extremely basic—far below what you would expect in Panama, a country known for its amazing cuisine. It honestly felt very low quality and repetitive. The only positive aspect is the staff. They are kind, friendly, and do their best with what they have. The pool is also nice and enjoyable. However, the biggest issue is the condition of the facilities. The hotel looks old, poorly maintained, and quite neglected. Everything feels outdated and not taken care of, which makes the overall experience very disappointing. I gave this place a second chance, hoping things would improve, but nothing changed. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it unless major improvements are made."

"We love this hotel. We got married here 13 years ago and decided to bring our daughter to show her our favourite all-inclusive resort. The rooms were clean and everything is well-maintained. The buffets were good but the a la cartes were only okay and the service wasn’t over-the-top. It wasn’t overcrowded and there were always beach chairs available. Lifeguards were plentiful! "

"El hotel requiere profundo. Posee áreas sociales y comunes espectaculares pero con décadas sin siquiera pintarlas, hacer jardines, como el parque y juegos infantiles. La piscina le falta pintura. Sin embargo está en mejores condiciones que el resto de los hoteles de Chitré. En general esta ciudad carece de un hotel de calidad. Éste tiene gran oportunidad de convertirse en el primero si invirtiesen en él."

"Called the property several t times with no answer. When we arrived the young man was on duty. He did everything he could to assist us. In the evening the gal on duty was very dismissive, couldn't even arrange for a taxi. The restaurant was very good and tasty, and the wait staff was excellent! I'd stay there again if I was in the city."
