“Overall we enjoyed our stay. A couple things of note: Bringing black out shades is super helpful! The closet in the bedroom is big enough for a portable crib. Be sure to bring toilet paper. We only had one full and one partial roll between the two bathrooms(and they were paper thin). Because there isn’t anywhere super close, it’s nice to know to pack some ahead of time :) The road is so peaceful and we went on the trail quite a few times. It was a bit wet, so we didn’t make it all the way……

“My husband and I stayed for the weekend. While the home is definitely out in the woods, it is not as secluded as we had hoped. There is a large occupied house that looks down on the rental house and hot tub. The ring doorbell can also see the hot tub, and we did not feel like it was private enough for us to use. The house is beautiful and there is plenty of space to wander in the woods.”

“The pictures and description are 100% accurate, but being there in person to take in the peaceful surroundings and views of nature with the family was a great experience. The hostess was responsive from the moment we booked and provided all the info we needed to make it to this mountain top cabin on the VA/WV border. We drove up on a Friday and after getting out of DC traffic we were on our way to Almost Heaven cabin. When we’re about a mile or so from the cabin we saw a black bear crossing……

“The cabin was impeccably clean and well-stocked. The view is incredible! The weather was cool and rainy so we didn’t utilize the decks or the fire pit. We were able to squeeze in some hot tub time which was exceptionally clean and relaxing. Bed was comfy. We definitely enjoyed our stay.”

“This cabin was a wonderful place to stay! It was quiet except for the sound of birds in the woods. The interior of the cabin was clean and well furnished; the bed was especially comfortable. While we didn't make use of the fire pit, the screened porch was our favorite place to sit day or night. Although it might have been too early for them, we felt relaxed on the porch knowing we wouldn't be attacked by mosquitoes or other bugs. It was easy to take our dog out for a walk on the back roads……

“Such a relaxing experience. Especially being a couple blocks from Main Street so everything was walkable. Seven Bends State Park is literally behind the house up the mountain. And Woodstock Brewhouse had the best salads and beer. Highly recommend!”

“The pictures do not do this property justice. Its more beautiful than you can imagine. The river access was super easy. The house is clean and has EVERYTHING you could possibly need at your fingertips. Kathleen and Jerry were very helpful and available to help with any little detail. Their recommendation of Crabills meat market up the road was great and they even pointed us in the right direction for a restaurant in town.
