Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The service from the staff was excellent. The location is great with lots of options for hiking in the beautiful setting. The room is well maintained.
Staff very friendly and efficient. Rooms very comfortable and spacious. Only downside, golf course In very poor condition if a golfer. Excellent relaxing 3 days
Only dinner option on Sunday was the R255 buffet - nothing else!
No a la carte, no room service, zero options!
My 11yr old daughter just wanted a toasted sandwich - nope cant help!
Eventually at a price of R125 she was allowed to enter the dining hall where she took 2 slices of (cold) kiddies pizza and we returned to our room.
My Mrs and I didn't bother to eat for fear of being mistakenly swallowed in the eat-as-much-as-you-can frenzy up at the serving counter...
The whole dining vibe was far from relaxed and so we opted to give our prepaid breakfast a skip the next morning and instead drove to a nearby lodge for a great country meal.
I have some fond memories of this hotel in its day but sadly not an option for our family again.
We have been to this resort many times as a family. As always staff and the resort were great. We had a very bad experience with some very drunk guest who behaved disgustingly and kept us up until after 2 am. Management handled this very well. Even though it was not their fault they offered us another weekend on them. Well done for making a bad experience have a positive outcome. You guys never disappoint.
The rooms were large and well appointed. The service was personal and professional. The staff were happy to make special accomodations on a number of occassions which enhanced the entire experience.
The hotel location is out of this world. The rooms are very neat. The hotel staff excellent including the Manager. The hotel facilities are excellent. The food was delicious. Rooms are overlooking Drakensberg mountains. Views are amazing
Hotel is 5km away from Sani Pass en route to Lesotho. Hotels is 4 star rated not 3 star as advertised. Will definitely come back
The location of this property is superb. The view to the Berg range is special. The day we arrived was beautiful so we made use of the swimming pool which was...cold! The following two days the weather was not good but this did not affect our stay.If you stay here and the weather is good take a trip up the Sani pass to Lesotho. We used a local company called 'Roof of Africa' who took us up in their 4x4 and gave a very knowledgeable commentary. We also made use of the Spa facilities at the hotel which were excellent.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Just two things which would have made it even better. In our room the hot water took too long before the water got hot. I showered before my wife and waited about 3 minutes before finishing with cold water thinking the hot water wasn't working. Only once my wife showered straight after me did the water get to a hot temperature. Second thing would be a small fridge where we could keep water bottles cold. When you go hiking to the waterfall and its 37'c outside, you would like cold water so we couldn't chill our water before heading out.
Gott helhets intryck!
Our stay was amazing. Was very disappointed with our supper meals. Was not up to the standard we used to at Sani pass. On two occasions I ordered steak and it was not done the way I requested. The buffet had a variety but the roasts were very dry and not worth the cost. I don’t mind paying as long as I get value for my money. I am not complaining but being a good critic so you know where to change things. I eat out and travel a lot for business and I know what is expected at a good hotel. People will come back if the food is good.
Very relaxing stay. Surrounded by amazing views and at the bottom of the Sany pas. Standards rooms are spacious comfortable and clean wit good quality finishes. The restaurant offers good quality food at very reasonable prices. Lots to do for kids, horse riding, mini golf, pools, etc...Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Overall our accommodation was absolutely fabulous loved the Superior Room..spacious and very homely. The facilities were relaxing...my husband was disappointed with the Golf Course, it wasn’t maintained properly. The food was good. The location was perfect. The only thing that I was not happy with was housekeeping, we left early in the morning for a day trip out and get back late afternoon to an uncleaned room. We had to remind housekeeping about our room not being cleaned. Also had to ask for clean towels. Room for improvement on that issue.

Disliked: Staff & service
Disappointing
Our stay was disappointing for several reasons.
1) heated pool was not available and the outdoor pool was slightly green. As well as the toilets by the pools having no soap or towels/hand drier.
2) customer service skills with the majority of staff was fair to poor. With poor communication on the telephone to simple requests like what is the theme for this evenings buffet...
3) the room was ok although the air con is so loud it sounds like it’s going to take off.
Overall the lack of pool and poor services really ruined it despite this place having a lot of potential!
One nice thing was the horse riding . Our instructor was great and really friendly!
