Nice location. Booked a tipee, which was nice, though not completely creepy-crawly proof. Bathrooms were more like camping than glamping.
Amazing, we stayed 2 nights. Loved the cabin, especially the outdoor bath. Had a few furry friends come visit too. Fire place kept us warm as it was a bit chilly at night. Only thing I would recommend is to have 2 sets of towels as it was a bit hard to get them dry after use.

Amazing location. Comfortable, interesting accommodation. So quiet, except for the wildlife.
Check in was 'self directed' although there was a phone number to call for problems.
No water in the shared block and lock didn't work on my tipee
Absolutely brilliant. The most peaceful place to stay with nature and wildlife right there on the doorstep. This is not a 5 star hotel with room service and in-house movies, this is a place to reconnect with your loved ones and the environment. No TV makes you talk to each other without any distractions. My wife and I laughed about how long it had been since we sat down and ate together with no background noise. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone that likes the simple things in life. Well worth the money!
We stayed at this property for two nights and it an escape from the busy city to get out in the remote country and experience off-grid living. We were surprised that the property has their own walks with a lookout.

Best trip and stay of our life. Thank you for making it so memorable. Perfect place to stay with amazing ambience… true flavour of organic nature and habitat. Extremely courteous and hospitable staff. Always there to help and assist. 5/5 Stars.
Beautiful setting in Tasmanian Temperate rainforest. The Teepee was a novel accommodation but very good. Table on the verandah (with roof) made for breakfast in the morning air, visited by wildlife ...
The road to the Retreat was damaged by the heavy recent rains, but our little car managed the ruts and potholes on the 4.2km dirt road.
An absolutely beautiful place , some 4 k up a very steep dirt road but we made it in our hired car. Huon is filled with wildlife and is an amazing place to stay. Take your own food and use their camp kitchen. Very comfortable beds and a fun outdoor bath with good hot water.
Heater needs replacing, was absolutely freezing in the teepee despite starting it at 4.30 and continuing to put wood in till 2.30 am. Admittedly it was a cold night but a wood heater in a small space like that should have the teepee cozy slept in a full set of thermals plus another layer on my torso, socks and a beanie and we are Tasmanian. Matches were damp as was the carpet, with a wet patch on it. Matches at the camp kitchen were also damp and the gas lighter supplied wouldn't work. Didn't see any staff so couldn't tell them. Certainly don't recommend the teepees for a winter stay.
* I booked a room at HBR, and contacted immediately to change the booking as I'd made an error with my dates. It took several calls and a great deal of stress to resolve the issue. On two occasions, the manager chose to answer the call only to advise that he was unable to assist as the call had come through outside of business hours. Their terms and conditions state that bookings and payment are non-refundable, so I could choose to either cancel the booking and lose the payment, or pay an extra $50 'change fee' to change to another date. I decided to pay the fee and change the date. Even though I agreed to pay the change fee,I was still told off by the manager for the inconvenience. I have never had such rude service from a business owner in my life and regret my choice to stay here.
* The journey there is unsafe without a 4 wheel drive and this is not made clear on the website. The gravel road to the accommodation is 4 km long; there’s a small section towards the end that’s so steep and bumpy I felt we were at risk of running off the road.
* The accommodation has a four star rating and the room cost is very high relative to other four star hotels I've stayed in in the past however the hotel did NOT provide basic items such as complimentary shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, shower cap, face washer, or breakfast provisions. Very disappointing.

trash was full when i arrived and the outdoor bathtub wasn't clean (birdpoo and lots of dirt, it was never so dirty at the other days...). the cabins are quite (out)dated. no reaction on texts or phone. no breakfast and whirlpool as advertised
Loved the experience of being nestled in the bush with wallabies at our back door. Beautiful caring for country walk with lots of really interesting information about the environment and first peoples. Hosts are super friendly and accommodating. Make sure you arrive in daylight as the steep climb on a dirt road would not be fun in the dark. We managed fine i our 2-wheel drive. Highly recommend if you want to unplug.
The place was situated in a beautiful location with lots of options to explore its surroundings. It wasn't very clear on what we were booking so prior to arriving we imagined what we booked would look a lot different based on what we paid. It's quite expensive considering what we paid and what we got. Nonetheless the place was very clean and plenty of firewood to get you through a cold night.
