My husband, my mother, and I have been renting a place together in Surf City for two weeks every summer since 2020. (I grew up across the high-rise bridge, in Sneads Ferry, and my mom still lives in the area, so we still consider ourselves 'local', even though I'm in Chicago now!). It is an absolute dream to be able to come back and visit every year. I come for the beautiful beach, the warm water, the fresh seafood, and the unpretentious charm of Topsail Island. The location of this house can't be beat. The kitchen upgrade is terrific, and the dining room table was excellent. The porch is great. Communication with the management company was top-notch. Loved having washer and dryer in the unit, instead of downstairs. I hope the owners will put some more love into the bathrooms, which could use some upgrading, and the living room furniture. It's also clear that the A/C unit is on its last leg, which made for an uncomfortable period while we waited for that to be serviced. That said, the management company was EXCELLENT and very attentive.
