“Was surprised it was a motel-style setting with windows overlooking the car-park. Quite a bit less picturesque compared to all other places we stayed on St Cuthbert’s Way. Food at dinner was good but a bit pricey compared to other inns and there was no table-service.”

“Overall a very good value place to stay, and as long as you know the place’s limits in advance you can plan round them. A bit on the basic side (no desk in the room, no towels, no dedicated wifi (something cloudy that didn’t work on 4th floor, so I tethered iPad to phone). toilet and shower a bit “military grade” but the price point was exceptional. Most of the staff were really friendly. Oh yeah there was a bit of a smell in the 4th floor corridor, but this was only in the corridor not in……

“Some of the positive reviews are likely from week-days. NEVER go here in the weekend. Your room is above the hotel's pub that makes your stay unbearable. It is not just people having a drink, but actively partying and shouting with a dj. This place should not be listed as a hotel. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. ”

“There was no staff on site. I may have misplaced instructions that were sent to me, but I was not prepared for such a deserted arrival. It worked out in the end and it was a convenient place from which to visit surrounding areas of interest.”

“Great location and nice pub. Parking on site is very limited but there is a large public car park very close. Staff were fine. One or two smiled and were friendly but the rest seemed quite miserable although they did the job effectively. Cleaning staff in the accommodation were lovely. Food was functional but after the first night didn’t bother eating there again. Downside was our room. It had a lovely view but was in the rafters and getting in and out of bed was treacherous as you’d either bang……

“Arrived at the property after having booked through Expedia due to having a previous booking cancelled on our way to Berwick due to a broken bed. We were greeted by a lady saying that there was no booking, on showing her our confirmation email she still claimed that we couldn’t have possibly booked as she only takes bookings Saturday to Saturday. After arguing with her for several minutes , she agreed to letting us have a room( the exact room in the photo I had booked) but said we couldn’t have……

“Ideal location to go walking the staff we're wonderful very friendly and helpful. The menu is a bit sparce but what was available was superb would highly recommend”
