“This home is dreamy. It is open-air so you always have the feeling of being in synch with the Hawaiian air. It is uniquely divided into rooms that provide privacy. The Master suite is amazing. There is no air conditioning, so if you are coming in the middle of summer, be prepared to use fans in the evening as it can be warm and stuffy.

“Hale Kai is a little piece of heaven with a "lot of personality", to borrow my hubby’s description. It’s rustic (meaning no air conditioning, a few critters, the seaside location magnifies some house wear/tear), but at the same time filled with home comforts, unique artwork, and lots of aloha. It’s away from crowds but it is at the end of the road where locals in the community go to fish off of the rocks. It’s on volcanic rock giving renters a unique place to explore.

“Chose this house because of location. Our first time on the big island so wanted to visit both Hilo and Kona side. Location allowed for good options each day as it was less than 2 hours from Hilo, and only an hour away from Hilo . House is great and host is super responsive. You can tell how much this house is cared for.
The home is somehow cozy and spacious at the same time. Very charming decor and has a ton of stuff for family nights. Our family has 2 adult children, one teenager, and two 12……

“This location is incredible! The condo is older but quite nice. We spent most of the time on the lanai. The view is breathtaking. In the morning the water is so clear you can see many fish (especially the yellow tang) and even turtles.
The only thing I wish I knew before booking is that the beach here has such a strong current and that the shallow rocks are covered with urchins so the locals strongly advised me against swimming or snorkeling at this beach. We did have a car and were able to……

“Isaac's rental units are easy going with a family atmosphere to it. The house is in a living neighborhood so you don't have the feeling of being among tourists - you get to experience a local green neighborhood full of cool plants and rich with birds. It's also conveniently placed to just walk to some of the best Kona Coast beaches within few minutes. Isaac is a great and super friendly communicator and clearly keep his house and the plants in great shape. We will be coming back!”
