Simply Lovely

This was such an amazing location to enjoy the night life with a short walk to the beaches! 10/10 would stay here again. The balcony is so peaceful with the faint sounds of traffic at night time. The sunrise coming over the mountains every morning is the cherry on top!

Great Value

This property is secure with an insight store. Close to everything and lots of extras like beach chairs and coolers. The pool was beautiful. A little dated interior but the value was perfect. The beds are AMAZING. A good nights sleep is worth everything

Great Views And Some Design Flaws

I enjoyed my stay—especially the stunning views and great location, which were the highlight of the space. However, the patio lounge furniture was uncomfortable, which made it hard to fully enjoy the outdoor area. Also, the microwave placement above the refrigerator was awkward and not very user-friendly. Overall, a lovely spot with a few practical drawbacks.

Location great for the price

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property was good - pool was supposed to open on the Monday but didn't open until Friday - disappointing. Contacted re a couple of problems and although they came to see them they said they would be fixed after I left....Bathtub paint was wearing off and was very slippery - should have had a non slip mat. Apart from these the stay was goodand location is great.

Bathroom needs updatng

Good location and setup. Beds were very comfortable although pillows were very high and hard. Check in process was very easy and the security is great. The kitchen set up looked good but we didnt really use it. The only negative is the bathroom. It needs a good cleaning, a paint job and some updating. While we were there they were doing renovations and it was sometimes noisy and a little difficult to maneuver through the hallways.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Based on my expectations since i was aware of the building being older, we were pleased with the room and overall experience. From the simplicity of first booking the room through check in and during the stay we had no problems. The building has a little store and was very convenient. The building is easy walking distance to food, restaurants, entertainment and the beach. We always saw maintenance and cleaning people cleaning the public areas around the pool and barbecue area. Enjoyed the stay.

Convenient Location and Great View

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The management company was awesome and was fast to respond to any concerns we had. The building offered a lot of convenient amenities. It had a great pool, convenience store, laundry facilities, restaurant and car rental. It was in a central location where you could walk to almost anything. The unit had a great patio but the unit itself needs a lot of updating. The kitchen and bathroom were very small and dated with no space to move around. The beds did not have conventional mattresses with no support hard to get in and out of.

Central Waikiki Vacation Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is as pictured. The location is excellent. The building is old and it shows somewhat. This unit is clean but it is tired. The bathroom in particular needs an overhaul. The balcony, view, pool, hot tub and bbq area is what makes this a good place to stay as it's central to everything. The only real downside is that owners may smoke in their units and it can be invasive, particularly considering the choice of smoke. Would be nice if it was a non-smoking building. I will stay there again!

One of the good place ....

You get to see both sides of the mountain and a bit of the ocean view.But I just wish that they have a better shower head. As well as some lights in the balcony. Secondly, the parking that was initailly emailed to me was $35/ night. When I got there, it was $40 and night. I just wish us well that the parking fee was included. In the whole entire scenes, we were renting it or staying in it for more than three days. There shouldat least have incentive or discount for it. Otherwise, the place is very accessible and walking. Distance to the beach and to the stores and the main roads.

Great Location, Good Value

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were happy with the location, value, cleanliness, safety and on-site parking. There were some minor negatives, but we would stay here again. The online photos are accurate. The studio was very clean and comfortable although a bit old and outdated. It was roomy enough for two people. The beds were very comfortable but there needs to be a variety of pillow firmness to accommodate different types of sleepers. The AC unit is so loud on the high setting that we could not hear the TV. The Eco setting was quieter and worked for sleeping. We found the AC instructions in the nightstand on the last day of our stay. An information binder would be helpful. There is a full-size refrigerator with the microwave on the top of the frig. A step stool would be handy for short people. We had a problem with the kitchenette faucet head detaching that appears to have happened before. The building is a combination of condominiums and hotel rooms, which could get confusing. Island Colony is the condo component and Aqua Skyline is the hotel. The building is old, as are most condos in Waikiki, but it is clean and well-maintained. The building is quieter than being on busy Kuhio Ave. The building is a convenient 5-minute walk to the International Marketplace or 6-minute walk to the Royal Hawaiian shopping center. Parking was confusing. It would have been helpful to have detailed parking instructions available before check-in. Parking is $40 per day, plentiful and attached to the building. The price is in the normal range for the area. The entrance and exit gates to the parking area are on a steep, 40-degree ramp. Pull a ticket and park. Before departing, pay the parking fee in the lobby, which gives you another ticket. To exit, you must scan BOTH your original ticket and the paid parking ticket at the exit ramp. Needs good deep cleaning

Needs a good deep cleaning and paint would make it 100% better. Beds were horrible. Both just form mattress. Was a last minute booking so you get what you get. Communication was fast snd efficient.

Affordable Waikiki Location

The room was a lot smaller than it appears to be in the photo but it was clean and comfortable (we were in Hawaii and don't spend much time in the room other than to sleep). The property is dated but the 6th floor with the pool, jacuzzi, and bbq area is incredible. My granddaughter called it the "fun floor." Parking is expensive but convenient. The AC was wonderful. If you're looking for luxury, this is not your place. If you need a place to unwind in the evening before sleeping, it will work perfectly for you.

Recent stay at Honolulu

The property location is really good, you can easily walk to the shopping areas and the beach. The balcony view was excellent. Straightforward checkout process. However a few things were not up to mark with the price that we paid: - the mattresses are too old and saggy - the closet was filled with vaccum cleaner and other cleaning tools, and left no room for us to put our bags - air condition unit was very noisy - the owner continuously tries to have customers download his own app for communication. All communication should be done through the vrbo app

Roomy and Comfortable

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had many visits to Hawaii and this is our 2nd stay in this building. The room is just as described, 2 comfortable beds, spacious lanai, small kitchen appliances such as toaster, rice cooker and microwave came in handy. We were mindful of our trash and leftover and so we had no problem with roaches. The restroom does need a little update (cosmetic) but we had no problem using it. Overall, we love this building and access to Waikiki and bus stops is so easy. Can't wait to come back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was just as described in the photos. It was very clean, well stocked with towels and beach towels. Starter supplies of tissue, garbage bags, dish soap and shampoos. A large lanai overlooking the pool and views of both the canal and the ocean. There was construction which impacted the use of the lanai however I was compensated for this change. I would recommend this unit to anyone who would like to spend time at the Island Colony.
