"I arrived to the property desperately needing a room after a Hilton property canceled my prepaid reservation for the night due to "overbooking."
The front desk rep that checked me in at Holiday Inn & Suites Columbia made a stressful situation become more bearable, not because a room was available but because she was truly a calming person, attentive, thorough, and knew her job. Her demeanor was NEEDED and on point. I made sure to compliment her in person. We didn't have any problems during our stay and may be visiting more IHG hotel properties instead of Hilton in the future because the Hilton brand has apparently lowered their standards. I'm not only saying it because of this incident, but I've experienced other incidents this year as well with Hilton.
Let me add this is a great location for anyone visiting Ft Jackson, SC. Especially for Family Day and Graduation to our new soldiers. The location is only exits away from the main gate. We ate good at some local establishments near the hotel as well. Very good location."
