"We recently stayed at Estrellas de Gredos and were really disappointed. The place has stunning mountain views and a traditional curved ceiling, but a lot of things went wrong. The biggest issue was a broken sliding door that wouldn’t lock. When we told the staff, they showed up unannounced at 22:00 and just said it was safe to leave it unlocked, which didn't sit right with us. The inside felt cheap too. "I was very satisfied with the hostel, the room was clean, bright, and spacious. The view from the window was also great. The owner was a very cheerful and kind person. I went to "Santuario de San Pedro de Alcantara", and the scenery was wonderful on the gentle 2.7km riverside road from the hostel to there, the birds singing and the babbling brook were soothing, and I was impressed by the scent of flowers when I breathed in. It was a very nice place."

"We had a warm welcome from the owner, and the apartment we stayed in was a good size, with a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The apartment is above a garage (separate to the rest of the hostel) and below the owners living area. "The house was hard to find. It was nowhere near where shown on the map in Vrbo and the address we were given was completely wrong.Amenities: much maintenance needed:No working light over hob.In one shower, head does not attach to wall mounting; in the other, hose leaks so badly the flow is a dribble.Much chipped crockery.No microwave cookware.Grubby walls.Blunt kitchen knives.No plug in kitchen sink.Pool filthy.Unstable standard lamp (hazard).Broken lid on garbage bin.Many flies, no screens, flat battery in fly swat, no spray.Inadequate and poor quality supply of towels."
