The hotel itself is nice overall, but there are several areas that need improvement.
Food & Dining:
• The food quality is average.
• Breakfast buffet was decent — definitely worth including with your room.
• Pool and lagoon food was very disappointing. Avoid ordering meals there.
• We skipped dinner at the hotel entirely and opted to eat out instead.
I suggest you get the breakfast package, but plan your lunch and dinner elsewhere.
Service & Front Desk:
The front desk staff could use better training in customer service. We had issues with:
• Applying the 20% Expedia discount on one meal.
• Coordinating the locations of our 3 booked rooms.
• It took two different managers — one at check-in and one at check-out — to finally resolve things.
Pool & Beach:
• The pool is nice and the walk up bar was decent. Entertainment could use help, the dancers come out a couple of times and do basic dances then leave, no games like bingo or trivia or fun activities that I saw in the 5 days there.
The beach is small, with very shallow, rocks at the start. But the water is clear.
You’ll need to walk out several feet before the water reaches your waist.
Bring water shoes — they’re necessary to comfortably walk into the water.
The shallow beach water in July felt more like a hot tub due to the heat.
Evening swims with a float were especially enjoyable.
The lagoon was deeper, but feels like walking in mud and green water swimming in it. I did not like it.
