"We had a lovely stay at Askot Cottages and were sad to leave! The cottage was very cosy and has been very thoughtfully designed. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the gorgeous view from the big window. We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights twice while we were there! We also appreciated the small touches, with plenty of tea and coffee for our stay, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided. Top Hvolsvollur Hotel Reviews

Hotel Hvolsvöllur

10/10 Excellent

"My room was HUGE - apparently I booked a 2br suite without realizing it, but the price was good so yay. Also very well-equipped and modern/updated. The staff was very kind, and the young man even carried my suitcase up the stairs since I have an injured leg (they probably should have an elevator though). Overall a lovely hotel, and I honestly wish I could have stayed another night!"

Hotel Fljotshlid

10/10 Excellent

"The staff helped us get away to our organised tours early by packing breakfast boxes for us to collect before the restaurant opened - really helpful. Hotel is 12kms from the local town, so if you don't want a full restaurant evening meal (provided on-site or at the neighboring farm) then you have to drive that 12kms each time. As we sat in the local pizza place the screen roll on the monitors explained that Iceland is the most expensive country in the world to live in. Travelers need to be ready to deal with that at the hotel, as everywhere else."
