“No television. Restraunt is closed. Super depressing property. We checked in and left and got another hotel.”

“Ashland Hills Hotel is a large campus hotel. Unfortunately the signage is nearly nonexistent. A sign that says “stairs - pool access” continues to end of stairs to no signage to guide you where to go next. Sign on door says “hydration station” to one no where to be found. You get off elevators to no room number signs. You are on your own to figure it out. I couldn’t let my mobility lacking mother out to navigate anywhere, for fear she would end up lost and exhausted. Upon checking into the……

“My son had stayed there before, his room seemed more updated than ours. The rate for our room was really high due to the fact that it was SOU’s graduation weekend, that was sort of a bummer to see the rate increase. I didn’t really like the self check in, especially when they had staff in the office available. You’re tired from traveling, I just want someone to check my id, hand me my room key, and send me on my way with a smile. Our room did not look like the “suite” we booked online at all.……

“The room was clean, the beds comfortable. We arrived just as the front desk clerk was leaving. She graciously stayed and checked us in. The desk is unmanned after 9 pm. Our key was under the mat for our room. It would have been nice if the air conditioning had been turned on. It was 90+ degrees and the room didn't cool down until early morning.”

“The check in experience was so bad that they did not find my reservation. And they have to keep calling their manager who is not on site to find out more information. Finally they want me to re-book with them again and pay on site. I told them that I have a booking with Hotels.com, they keep saying they cannot find the reservation. I spent at least 30 minutes at the front desk and still couldn't resolve the problem. It made me think they want to charge me twice.”

“Lovely, quaint motel, that has been well-maintained and is very clean. Good location, can walk to downtown Ashland, but about a mile. The only frustration I had was with a mildly unhelpful person at the reception desk. I also needed to charge my Tesla but was told the Tesla charger was only for a particular cottage that I wasn’t staying in. Access to a level 3 charger but it was in use almost the entire evening. A little frustrating.”
