“We loved staying at this property. The kids have already asked to come back sometime during the summer. My siblings and I all grew up in Hickory. My Mom is still there. My brother came to stay with my Mom for a few days. My husband and I and our 6 children rented this place so that we could be close while my brother was in Hickory. It was the perfect place for all of us to hang out and have a meal together. We loved the pool. Someone was always in a kayak. Fun fact: you can see cove that this……

“We had a great time. The host quickly got back with me what I had a question. Sitting and watching the water was so relaxing, the hot tub was clean and fun. The fire pit was amazing also. The outside dining was nice to have as well. Privacy was a 10/10.”

Our son had a soccer tournament in Hickory with spaced out game times, rescheduled games due to weather, etc. The Blue Door Guesthouse was our comfortable oasis to relax and enjoy family time. The pool was great, even in May! The hosts are top knotch. Highly recommend!”

“Our family traveled to NC & rented a house instead of a hotel room. Although we were only there for a place to sleep, the home had everything you would need for an extended stay. The home is older but updated. I loved the simplicity & cleanliness of the inside of the home.”

“Husband and I went for a quick getaway. Everything was clean and convenient. The cats were so sweet and nice company to have while you sat on the balcony and looked at the lake. Fishing was extremely relaxing as well. They had board games for the rainy night we had and the kitchen was well stocked. Loved it and would definitely try to go again.”

This property is in the middle of so many fun places to visit. Plenty of things to do for everyone in the family. Dara was a gracious host and was easy to get a hold of anytime we needed. We cannot wait to go back for a longer stay!”
