"The hotel's traditional décor is truly impressive. There are various hot spring options to enjoy. The massage chairs are well worth the wait, and the complimentary drinks, ice cream, and ramen are all of good quality. The breakfast offers excellent value for money, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and well maintained."

"Industrial area and limited sights in the area. The train museum is a mist see with kids. The rooms are large for Japanese standards and clean. Shower and tub room is generous sized. Our view was of the rear industrial area. The onset was nice touch. Separated by sexes. The breakfast buffet was pricey but we did try it for only 1 meal so kids can try traditional Japanese breakfast foods. They also had western offerings as well. It was nice to get some fresh veg and fruits as it is pricey at restaurants. The base of the hotel has a few premium priced restaurants and we did hit the 7-11 just outside the hotel for supplies"

"We stayed in several hotels throughout our two week Japan trip, and this hotel (and Kyoto in general) was by far our favorite. It is spotlessly clean and classy. The lofi-jazz playing in the hotel as well as the rooftop lounge was a nice touch. The breakfast every morning was wonderful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel is walking distance to most of the Gion sites such as Yasaka Pagoda, Kiyomizu-dera Temple and a short taxi or subway ride from Yasaka Temple, Nishiki Market, Fushimi Inari (amazing) and so many other things to do. I would stay again at this hotel in a heartbeat! We’ll be back the next time we’re in Kyoto."

"Great hotel opposite Kyoto Station so very handy. Room was spacious which is unusual in Japan. Had a laundry room which was only ¥600 to use although we had to hang up clothes in room as it didn't dry them completely. Loads of good restaurants nearby in station (who would have thought) as well as combinis. Several shopping malls close by as well. Overall a good hotel and one I'd stay at again."

"The hotel is near a lot of underground shopping and restaurant areas. This can make navigation a bit tricky because it's not always clear if the place you are looking for is street level or below. The room was a decent size, but the beds were much closer that expected. Our room had three beds. There was a small walking space between the two larger beds. The smaller bed was touching a wall on one side and the larger bed on the other. There wasn't a lot of room for luggage, but the bathroom was a reasonable size."

"Size of room was spacious as compared to other hotels. High tech way of checking if the washing machines/dryer are in use! Nice touch to have welcome drinks on 3F for hotel guests. Hotel staff were also helpful. There is a large supermarket and sports store within 5 mins walk from hotel. Lawsons is also just round the corner and about 7 mins walk to Shin-Osaka station."
