Nice Quiet Getaway

We stayed there the whole trip. Never even went into town. The property has great amenities and we brought our food and cooked easily. Traeger gril is a definite plus! Would book it again.

Quiet and lovely stay in the woods

Great spot for a quiet stay and hiking trip with a friend. Cute amenities, beautiful deck space, outside of town so quiet but also easy quick drive to town, loved the record player. Instructions for access, parking, etc were very easy and helpful! We hope to come stay again!

Solid experience. The view from the back deck took my breath away! I had a solo retreat in the Lazy A and it was a great space for that. Peaceful place at the end of a street and set up with everything you would need. I especially appreciated the book collection. Checking out the stars from the hot tub was incredible too. Lots of great bird-watching as well!The only drawbacks during my stay was some construction noise from a house across the way. It was so quiet and peaceful so sound of lumber and drills amongst the trees was unfortunate. I also had some cleanliness issues. I basically had to re-wash every dish, utensil and cooking tool I pulled out of the drawers because they were sticky or still had food residue on them. Under the beds were pretty gross too, like they forgot to vacuum under there many times.All in all, I loved the location and enjoyed my stay.

Great A-frame in the mountains

We stayed 2 nights in the lazy A. Cool location tucked away in the hills. Feels very secluded. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi and the record player. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

A magical space to recharge yourself

Our stay was truly enjoyable and exactly what we needed. The peace, quiet and relaxation we experienced in this cozy A Frame cabin was more than I could have imagined. It is truly a wonderful space to recharge yourself and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.We will definitely be saving this cabin for any future visits we have to IdyllwildThe hot tub was amazing and enjoyed every evening. We made sure to follow the curfew as to not disturb the neighbors.The coffee maker and amenities in the kitchen were more than we could have hoped for when preparing small meals and snacks. The cabin is a true gem and we hope to stay there again real soon.Take care.

Cute A Frame in the Tree

A nice, small cabin nestled between the trees. View is beautiful and location is private. Wood burning stove is warm--1 bundle of wood is provided but I would recommend purchasing 2-3 bundles per day. We loved the hot tub (although it didn't heat up until the next morning).

Perfect economy of space, great views, well designed + well appointed, fun A-Frame Cabin. Josh was welcoming, quick to respond, and even checked in on us with news of a potential storm coming. Will book again.

Loved everything about it!

Our stay at the Lazy A Frame was so great. Everything is well thought out, beautifully designed, and makes sense. It was great to be able to relax in the hot tub after a day of hiking (which still felt like new btw), or read on the balcony overlooking the forest in the morning light. We would stay here again for sure and would recommend it to friends and family for a great weekend getaway or extended stay.

Quaint & Lovely

The Lazy A Frame is a beautiful little cabin with a cozy wood burning stove, a hot tub under the stars and an awesome back patio that makes you feel like you’re sitting up in the middle of the pines! I unfortunately had to cut my trip short, but am hoping to be back soon!!

A-Frame

Lovely little spot. Difficult turn around and parking for Titan sized truck. If staying during cold weather bring your own firewood. Only a “starter” pack is provided (five logs for a 3 nite stay) but blankets provided were quality and warm. It’s a lovely little a-frame in the woods and a nice get away.

Quick getaway

Our family needed a quick getaway and this A Frame Cabin checked all of the boxes! Having a dog friendly option is a huge plus and we're really appreciative of being able to bring our pups. Overall the cabin was exactly as described in the listing. It's very cute and provided the perfect getaway for our family. We were greeted by a light snow as we arrived and by nightfall there was a nice even snow cover across most surfaces. The fire was fairly easy to get going with the quick start pack that was provided - definitely ready all of the instructions! We missed the part about the fan behind the stove and went through a good amount of firewood before we realized it was there. Once we turned the fan on the cabin warmed up pretty quickly - it's very efficient! The hot tub was perfect on a cold snowy day.and the views throughout were spectacular! I would highly recommend this cozy cabin and we fully intend to visit again!

Perfect Idyllwild Experience!

My partner and I spent a week at Josh’s lovely A-frame. It did not disappoint! It’s stylish, comfortable, and private with incredible views and amenities. We loved the back deck overlooking the forest with amazing sunset views. The wood stove, pellet grill, and hot tub were also awesome! There were even drinks waiting for us in the wine fridge. The only advice I would give is to bring some newspaper to get a fire going if you want to use the wood stove , but you can also grab some free papers in town like we did. Communicating with Josh was easy and he provided lots of helpful details. We would definitely stay again!

Great getaway

An adorable and private little A Frame just about 10 minutes outside of Idyllwild. Everything was as listed and expected, and we appreciated the fire wood and bottle of rose and waters at check in. Highly recommended! (By the way - they are not joking about needing an appropriate vehicle to get down the private road. We had a 4WD crossover, so no issues, but a standard sedan could definitely not make the road even in the best of conditions. Luckily, there is a nearby paved road that is a short walk away, too.)

Fantastic house in a great location

We absolutely loved our stay. We stayed in early March and they still had a little snow on the ground. The amenities were great. The cooktop was a little small, but was we were able to still cook meals effectively. The deck is nice with a gorgeous morning view. The utensils were well stocked. One thing to note is that the coffee maker is not a Keurig, but a Lavazza (make note if you are pre-shopping for groceries). Beds were comfy, and the wood burning stove made the house super warm. Nice big TV downstairs, and the record player was a nice touch for dinners. The hot tub was clean and fairly new. Several nice hiking trails in the area as well as off road trails. Idyllwild is a short drive, and there are some nice town square with coffee shops and restaurants. Overall, we would love to come back and bring the kids next time! Fantastic host and a fantastic house!

Cozy, but can use an update.

Thank you for hosting us. We had a great time in the area. Things that could use improvement was 1) fridge did not work (we had brought food to cook and had to use the freezer instead to prevent spoilage) and 2) cleanliness (for example, we were greeted by a decaying moth on the table, kitchen drawers were messy). I did send an email regarding the fridge during our stay, but did not get any response. Just FYI for future visitors during the summer, the AC takes a couple hours to cool the place and keep your food away because there are ants. Cabin is not as nice as the pictures to be honest. Hot tub, balcony, and stars were amazing, however. Thank you for being dog friendly too! :)

A true alpine wilderness experience

I surprised my husband with a 4-day Valentine’s getaway at the Lazy-A cabin, which made for a charming base of operations for three incredible hikes: the Devil’s Slide, South Ridge to Tahquitz Peak, and the San Jacinto Peak Loop Trail. Although the cabin is located very close to the sleepy town of Idyllwild, it is quietly nestled in an area of Pine Cove that gives you a sense of real seclusion among the manzanitas, ponderosa pines, and other woodland creatures. The Lazy-A is small, yet deceptively spacious. The extremely large rear deck is great for taking in the panoramic view of the forest in the daytime or for stargazing at night. The large living/dining area is ideal for lounging in front of the fire or enjoying a good movie on the comfy sofa. We prepared meals every evening in the extremely well-appointed kitchen. We especially enjoyed the slow cooker as it enabled us to return home after a long day’s hike to a fully-cooked and hearty meal. It’s clear that Josh has his guests’ comfort in mind. The cabin was stocked with a bundle of firewood for the wood burning stove - which radiated ample warmth throughout the main living area. The bedding in both bedrooms was high quality and super comfy. There were plenty of extra conveniences: wine cooler, high speed charging stations, smart TVs that enabled us to access our streaming accounts, an abundance of extra blankets, and a brand new jacuzzi with some fun features just a few steps from the front door. As an EV driver, the level 2 charging station by the stairway leading into the cabin was the cherry-on-top for this true California wilderness experience.

4th of July Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed our relaxing visit to the peaceful area of Idyllwild in the majestic forest & the very comfortable Lazy A Frame to escape the sounds of fireworks for our 6-year old Terrier, Winston. We all enjoyed the 4th of July peace & quiet. Josh was a very attentive & considerate host!
