Secluded "On The Rocks" with a Hot Tub & Seasonal Creek, Walk to Town

This stunning home features a cozy den and an inviting outdoor hot tub, all nestled in a lush, wooded setting in the San Jacinto Mountains. The impeccably equipped kitchen with a bar is perfect for preparing delicious meals, and the comfortable living room provides a relaxing spot to unwind after a day of adventure. Each of the three bedrooms is adorned with a queen sized bed, while two pull-out couches ensure that the house can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. Discover the serene wooden deck near a peaceful seasonal stream, adding a touch of tranquility to your stay. With complimentary Wi-Fi and a charming wood-burning fireplace, you'll feel right at home. On the Rocks, just under a mile from town, offers the perfect blend of convenience and serenity, providing an ideal retreat for larger groups and families seeking a spacious, private, and amply equipped home in the heart of a mountain oasis.

Streaming services are available, but guests must log in using their accounts.
This vacation rental is not equipped with air-conditioning.

-Cancellations: Bookings canceled at least 60 days before the start of the stay will receive a full refund, with a $150.00 cancellation charge. Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive a 50% refund, plus a $150.00 cancellation charge.
No Cancellations are Allowed for November, December, and January.

- Pets: We do allow dogs, however, please note that there is a fee of $35 per dog per night. If you plan to bring more than one dog, you must obtain prior approval and additional fees may apply. When booking through selected third-party sites such as Airbnb, once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a payment request for the dog fee, which should be paid separately.

- Check-in instructions: Please check in at the main office.

Parking: Free parking is available for 2 vehicles (Seasonal Restrictions Apply; chains are recommended in winter, and 4X4 is HIGHLY Recommended).

- Outdoor lighting: Please note that outdoor lighting must comply with Riverside County regulations and must not blink, flash, or rotate. Guests will be held liable for any "light trespass" on surrounding properties.

- County permit number: 001806

- Rental agreement: Please review our rental agreement for our house rules. You will receive an emailed version to sign, but if you prefer other options, please inquire.

- Age restrictions: Due to the new County of Ordinance 927.2: We no longer accept reservations for anyone under 21 years of age.

- Seasonal wood delivery: If available, there is a $25 fee per bundle (approximately 20 pieces). Please provide at least 5 days' notice for a Friday arrival date or at least 3 days' notice for any other day of the week. Please note that there are no refunds for this service.

- Confirmation: Upon booking this property through Airbnb, New Spirit Vacation Homes will send you a direct email confirming your reservation. Attached to this confirmation will be a contract you need to review, sign, and send back within 24 hours.

- Incidentals: We reserve the right to request payment for any incidentals. This includes but is not limited to firewood, pet fees, special occasion requests, personal grocery drop-offs, pay-per-view movies or sporting events, and damaged property.

Guests booking this home under the age of 25 years of age will provide an additional security deposit of $250-$500 on the day of arrival, depending on the home

This is a fun property, there are many places in and around the house to explore. We had a great time there and felt very at home. There are lots of stairs but we enjoyed the multi-levels. There were a few issues which is why we are giving it 3 out of 5 rating. The bbq did not have propane in the tank and the hot tub doesn't get hotter than 99 with people in it. I booked this property specifically with the intention of using the hot tub and the bbq. I texted PM about the empty propane in which we had $100 worth of tri-tip to grill and they never even bothered to respond. Which brings me to the property management. a month before our stay I called new spirit vacation homes (pm) but the voicemail box was full. They did not return any of my 3 text messages. To say I was unsatisfied with them is a massive understatement. Checking in was so awkward, no lock boxes but a window office in town. She opened up at 4:07pm and there was a line into the parking lot of 5 parties waiting to check in. so 4pm check in means 5pm enter the house. There were a couple minor complaints about the amenities but they are easily fixed. The extra linens were hard to find they were not put away very thoughtfully. We did not enjoy the trash compactor. But it bares repeating, this is a lovely house and all of our party absolutely loved it. 3 stars for management 4.5 stars for the property (minus .5 for the hot tub). Thank you for letting us use your home.

Amazing cabin, amazing location , amazing views
I can't describe how beautiful the location of the property and the cabin was better than the pictures actually the pictures don't do it justice everything was awesome check in was easy , place was clean Cabin has everything you need it is a little dated but that doesn't matter because their location alone is beautiful and the pictures don't describe how big and roomy it is what a beautiful fireplace I truly feel that the description doesn't do it justice as well . me and my family teenagers and kids had a great time and we were so lucky to be there to see the snowfall and enjoy all that Idlewild has to offer. We will definitely be coming back to this exact cabin .

Pleasantly surprised!
Overall, a really great place to stay and would recommend it to others. I would have given a 4.5 stars if I could. The half star off was due to only a few slight items - the primary issue being the jacuzzi which needs better maintenance. The jacuzzi only worked the first day: on the second evening it had cooled down to 74 degrees and would not warm back up for the rest of our stay despite following all of the directions. Also, the jacuzzi had algae in it and had a film of slime. Overall though, really loved the place.

This House is Worn Out and Dated
The Property is advertised and priced as a high end luxury, executive home. The pictures look good, but our experiences is that everything in the house is very dated and there are so many things that did not work or are in disrepair or very cheap. Examples include: Some Electrical outlets in Bathrooms and on Living Room floor did not work, House was not insulated and the heater is old and barely functions, the small kitchen appliances (toaster, coffee pot were barely functioning. The wine opener was cheap and unusable. Several light bulbs were out in the bathrooms and Master bedroom. The toilet seat in one of the bathrooms had a big crack, The damper to the fireplace was stuck in the open position, The heater vents were difficult to open, The Bar stools at the kitchen counter were unstable and lean forward. The garbage compactor did not open and there was no kitchen garbage can. Overall it was a hassle, not an enjoyment to stay at this property. We will not be coming back and paying a premium price for low value/quality.

Great getaway
In just a couple of hours from LA, we submerged into the charming mountain village with beautiful nature and lots of hiking trails. The cabin was great – spacious, had all amenities, and conveniently located within ten minutes walk from the center. It is an ideal place for spending family time. We enjoyed our time and are very grateful to the host for our perfect getaway.

A Breath Of Fresh Air..
Booking was simple, I booked through VRBO. The communication wasn't thee greatest, It says allow 48hrs to respond, sometimes I had to write a few messages because I wouldn't get a response at all. When we arrived to the property, we were amazed at how beautiful it was. The View was spectacular. Unfortunately when we were touring the property we have beer cans around and in the property that we had to throw out. Many of the items in the home were worn out and or broken, such as the shower know. the bath tub stopper, the oven door pulls apart. The bbq was low on propane, but we made it work. We didn't let that stop us from enjoying the beauty of this home and it's surroundings. I can't wait to rent again!!

Great cabin
The cabin was lovely and close to town but felt very secluded. We spent Christmas at the cabin and loved the layout - it was well stocked with cookware, so cooking was a breeze and there was plenty of room for 7 adults and 3 children. We played games, enjoyed the jacuzzi and hiked local trails and explored behind the cabin as well. Everyone had a wonderful time !! Thank you!!

The place was perfect. It had plenty of space for a family of 4 with plenty to do for the younger kids. We would most definitely consider coming back. It's packed with charm! The only tiny drawback is that, on the hotter days, it can be quite hot well through the night even with all the windows open and the fans on.

Beautiful cabin to enjoy Idyllwild
The cabin is really beautiful and the hot tub really made for a relaxing weekend. The views are so picturesque and we loved all the details in the cabin. The master bathroom is amazing with multiple windows on the ceiling making for a feeling of bathing outdoors! Overall it is a great cabin to share with friends or extended family as many rooms are available. It was a great stay, but there were a few things that could have made it even better. Unfortunately it was a heat wave all over CA and was in the 90s even at 6000 feet in Idyllwild! If the cabin had some box fans that would have really helped with air circulation at night as the cabin does not have AC. The kitchen was well equipped although could have been a little cleaner (stove etc) for the hefty cleaning fee. The hot tub was at 113 F when we arrived so for safety the temperature needs to be regularly checked and necessary maintenance provided. We were able to cool it down by adding water from the hose. Lastly late checkout was possible which was great for us, but it required calling the morning of and it was a little hard to get through. I know it was a busy weekend so that wasn’t a huge deal. However if the line went to voicemail rather than a busy signal that would be great. Those are all little things that could be easily fixed to make the stay even more idyllic in Idyllwild. :)

Peaceful stay in Idyllwild
We had a wonderful stay at On the Rocks in Idyllwild! The hot tub on the deck was amazing! The view from the deck is a wonderful 180 degree tree-lined view and very peaceful. Cannot see any other homes from the house at all so it feels very secluded. It was very clean and well-stocked. We wanted to stay longer. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend it! :)
