We have all seen Bill Murray in Groundhog Day but the ceremony of Phil's prognostication does not actually take place in town like the movie suggests but two miles east of town at the unusually named Gobblers Knob. The Movie was actually not even filmed in Punxsutawney but in Woodstock, Illinois. The Groundhog Day celebration has its in Celtic tradition. I booked 2 rooms. In the one room, the refrigerator would not get cold (though it was plugged in) and the toilet wouldn't always flush everything down. You had to wait awhile and try flushing again. The bathtub did not drain after getting out of the shower. We were looking forward to a hot breakfast that looked good on the website - we went down around 7:15am, the grandchildren put cereal in their bowls and the milk pitcher was empty. I had to find someone to fill it. We went to get the "hot" items and both trays were empty. I found the same employee and he left for a bit and came out with sausage patties only - and they looked like they weren't even cooked. I tried one but it did not taste right. No one else took sausage because of how they looked. There were no eggs nor anything besides the sausage. The only sweet items were chocolate muffins - no other flavors or pastries. Tables were not clean. On top of all that, a gentleman stood near our door and talked on his phone all night. Not the hotel's fault but just added to our already poor experience. For the price of the rooms, it definitely wasn't worth it. I will not be recommending this hotel.

If you like the smell of cat urine, barking dogs, and cockroaches. This is the place for you. The staff was kinda cool though.

First and foremost, the staff was excellent. The guy at the front desk was terrific and helped in any way possible. 1. The entire stairwell and floors smelled like straight up pot. People smoking pot all around the building, including right under the AC air intake. 2. Garbage everywhere outside and very shady looking people smoking pot and burning fires in grills outside the corner door. 3. The tub is a death trap with it's design, for anyone that is older or has bad legs or knees. The shower head was broken and set at an in between setting with literally almost zero water pressure. 4. The TV remote was broken and the cable going in was ripped apart and I had to rig it up, with the wire going in, to get it to even work. 5. Breakfast only had sausage and waffles, with some bread and yogurt. Not horrible, but not great at all. We stay at hotels about 25 weekends a year, so this isn't coming from some novice. Definitely not worth the $127+ a night they want. Go down the road to the Hampton or Holiday inn Express.

The staff was polite and helpful. The rooms and the hallways were clean and seemed recently redone. The parking lot was pitted, at the back of the hotel was not well lit. The inn itself is in a quiet area but close to the main shopping district. I would stay there again.

Entire stay was poor. Check in was slow. Hotel looks abandoned from the road. The room was out dated, the ac couldnt keep the room cool. The breakfast was unattended and poorly stocked.

When we pulled up to the building, we thought we had the wrong address - it looks like an abandoned building. After checking in, we were directed to the back corner where there was questionable guests who quickly scattered and ran inside - banging on doors and trying handles. Multiple rooms were blasting music and the hallways smelled horrible. Once inside the room we were appalled by the poor condition of the flooring, furniture and windows. The bed, which we didn't dare touch - looked like a deflated air mattress. The entire property was nothing like the pictures online presented. We immediately cancelled our reservations and found somewhere else to stay. The company should be embarrassed and ashamed of the false advertising they present with their online directories. Clean up your property, make it safe, and healthy for guests to stay.

Woke to 3 small roaches in the bathroom sink, half dead. Bathroom toilet had to be flushed multiple times, exhaust fan didn’t work, shower knob when pulled only allowed small amount of water in showerhead, only could rinse off, not enough to wash hair. Let staff know of issues, mentioned that roaches were half dead, saying i assumed they knew of the issue and were treating them, he said yes. Didn't stay for free breakfast as my room was on the 2nd floor, i imagine there is quite few more on the first. Property under construction, worn down. Bagged my luggage and treated it, so not to bring anything in my home.
