I loved that you had turkey sausage on your breakfast. I enjoyed how my water and coffee was refilled with a smile without asking. Staff was very helpful. I enjoyed my quesadilla. We loved the train on the 2nd floor and the figurines. The stain glass window in the ballroom and main meeting room was very beautiful and the sun shown through. The Grand Hall is typically locked and closed, which we didn't know, we asked the front desk how to get there, they let us know that it is typically locked and said they could have an engineer come open it for us, not only did he unlock and let us get a look around, he took us for a very impressive tour, we learned some history and saw some very cool sights of Old Union Station.

There are plenty of other hotels in the area that offer a far more modern and luxurious feel. The rooms here are very basic, the breakfast is not good, and during my last visit there was heavy construction around the area that made arrival and departure frustrating, even with the valet. I typically don’t leave reviews, but after multiple stays and the complete lack of customer service during this recent situation, I felt it was necessary. The only reason I returned at all was the proximity to a state game we were attending and a special offer rate that made it seem reasonable. However, between the outdated rooms, the unimpressive breakfast, the construction, and now the refusal to work with us during a weather advisory, it’s clear that there are better options nearby that value guests more. Going forward, I’ll be choosing one of the many other hotels downtown that offer better service, better amenities, and a more comfortable overall experience.

My experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing, and this stay made it clear we will not be returning. A severe weather advisory made it unsafe for us to travel, yet the hotel refused to offer any flexibility whatsoever. I understand policies exist, but there are moments when safety and basic human decency should matter more than a rigid non-refundable rule. A refund, a credit, a date change, or even partial accommodation would have shown they value their guests. Instead, they chose policy over people and kept $97 rather than prioritize safety or loyalty. This is especially frustrating because we’ve stayed here before. The only real selling point has ever been proximity, not the hotel itself. During our previous stay, the breakfast was already a disappointment. It’s a very limited buffet with options that did not feel fresh, and it absolutely wasn’t something I wanted to repeat. The rooms are also extremely small. Last time, we stayed in one of the “train car” rooms, and beyond the initial novelty, it was cramped and underwhelming. Even the kids lost interest quickly. We would much rather stay downtown in a hotel with better space, updated amenities, and a skyline view. Between the lack of flexibility during a genuine safety concern, the subpar breakfast, the cramped rooms, and the overall outdated feel, there is nothing here worth returning for. This hotel has made it clear that profit matters more than people, and they have permanently lost our business.

Construction near it made it very difficult to find its entrance. No own parking lot you can easily self park. Front desk or the valet parking didn’t answer when I wanted the car out.

The place is really, really nice. Didn’t eat there. However, there is construction all around the facility and getting to the entrance was near impossible. We were on a time crunch and called the hotel desk to find out how they recommended getting to the entrance—she could not tell us, which added more anxiety to the situation. By the grace of God we stumbled on how to get there—by only one road going in the proper direction (there are roads closed everywhere). Once there, it was great…just getting there was awful. Add 30 minutes to your travels to account for all the construction. It would’ve been nice to know what we were getting into…but again, once there, it was great.

Several issues upon arrival, or should I say trying to arrive at the hotel. I know it was a busy weekend, but the only access to the hotel was down a barricaded road where you had to enter and then ask a policeman permission to be allowed through in order to gain access to the hotel. This was something that was not conveyed to us at 5:00, an hour after we had been trying to gain access. Lots of traffic and frustration. Tried to call the hotel and no answer at all on the phone. There has to be something done before check-in to make people aware of this situation.

Room was clean. The staff was amazing. So kind and willing to go above and beyond. Only issue was breakfast. They had a great variety. Although it was not by the food, we did see an unwanted bug in the dining area. I didnt see this particular bug anywhere else in the hotel, but i def. didnt want to see it whilst eating. Even with that, the place is beautiful and the art installment and architect is unrivaled in Indy hotels. Location was perfect walking distance to the downtown area.

This was my first time staying in a Train Car room. It was really nice. The bed was comfy and I had a great nights sleep. Will definitely stay there again. The front desk clerk was very helpful and knowledgeable.
