El Burrero and all this area is very windy. There are some quiet months from September to February, but not all the time. Therefore is perfect for those who practice windsurf and kitesurf.

El Burrero beach is located in the coastal town with the same name, in the municipality of Ingenio. It is next to the airport of Gran Canaria, with what coexists with the traffic of airplanes. However, noise doesn't interfere in daily life. There is a good local atmosphere.
The area of El Burrero is quite windy, so its beach too. Therefore, it is ideal for water sports such as surfing, kite surfing and wind surfing. In fact, the beach is divided into several areas: bathing, surfing and windsurfing or kitesurfing.
The part suitable for the bath is the one that is more sheltered by a volcanic rock, El Roque. Still, you should know that there is plenty of wind on the beach and could be uncomfortable. If you do not come to surf, the best months, due to the absence of wind, are usually from September to February.
The beach of El Burrero has the distinguished blue flag, that is, an award that certifies its environmental quality, both the quality of its waters, and the number of services it offers. In this case, it has access for people with reduced mobility, showers, services, surveillance and parking. It does not have hammocks, but it does have large wooden tatami to lie on.
On the main street, ending at the pier there are some restaurants and cafeterias along with a supermarket and pharmacy.

Parking is free on the street, although sometimes is not easy to find a spot close to the apartment. Right in front there's an informal dirty space where locals park their cars. The access is rustic so a low car might have difficulties.
