"The hotel hotel was nice, the room was more than adequate and the staff were great, my only complaint was it was close to a bar/club and you could hear people shouting and laughing on the street and the faint thump of music."

"First, the positives: the bar was nice and the food fantastic (really well cooked, tasty and good portions for the price), staff were always friendly and polite, too. As a pub - no complaints. However, as a hotel there were definitely concerns and functional issues. If it had been more than one night, we would have demanded a refund and left. Room/bed: We booked a "deluxe king room" that was allegedly a suite, but the reality did not match the description at all. All one room (apart from the bathroom) and the bed was double width, but shorter than normal. The "coffee maker" was a kettle and some sachets. Housekeeping: Not convinced they had been in before we arrived. Bedding was visually clean and not smelly, but not neatly made. An old newspaper was still on the side stand and McDonald's rubbish was still in the bin. TV: no aerial/digital connection, so we had to sign-in to iPlayer to use it. Shower: broken. The head could not be adjusted, its cap just came away in our hands, as it was clearly broken and just balanced back in place, and then we realised there was only a dribble of ice-cold water. We reported the issues and staff did attend the room, but none of it got sorted and an offer to move us to a different room was later retracted because now the whole hotel had plumbing issues..."

"A lovely overnight stay. The sandwiches at lunchtime ( especially the Club) and the truffle and Parmesan fries were superb as was dinner. Lovely clean rooms, tastefully decorated throughout the hotel and staff were extremely helpful. What a stunning position next to the river!"

"First time there and wished it was for longer than one night..! We were met by Katie who was very helpful during the check in process and again in the evening when we had dinner and a few drinks afterwards. Our room was a standard double which was spotless, warm and comfortable. We had a delicious dinner at night and the breakfast in the morning left us wanting for nothing. A two minute walk to the magnificent beach made our stay even more enjoyable and we’d be happy to return any time we find ourselves looking for a relaxing break. Thanks to all."

"Such a treat to stay at this location! The staff and food were amazing and the lodge was like a step back in time, but with all the modern amenities. I stayed in the sweetest room that was just perfect for my needs. The sound of the rushing water from the river was constant and soothing and could be heard from all corners and areas of the facility. Very well worth every effort made to be there."

"The room was spotlessly clean a few light patches on the carpet but very well maintained the staff were welcoming and the choice of breakfast menu was amazing my friend and opted for a full Scottish breakfast which was cooked to perfection and so tasty there was a selection of buns croissants and yogurts and fruit if you wanted a healthy breakfast. The bathroom was very nice I ordered the products online which I do after every visit which are provided in the bathroom and we indulged in the spa in the evening we opted for an afternoon tea with the view to a late dinner later in the evening but the afternoon tea was so delicious and filling we did not need dinner. parking was secure and complimentary and there is ample parking albeit a small distance walk. I paid £20 each for my six year old dog and my 14 week old pup to join me in our room and my dogs got a huge welcome from reception and the grounds are fabulous for a walk dogs are welcome in the drawing room to eat and enjoy a drink so five Star for dog friendliness thank you so much ardoe house hotel and spa team we will definatly be back."
