The garden was large and although not enclosed was great for our older lab. Previous reviews mentioned the steps down to the front door. For clarity, there are two steps on a gravelly slope. My husband who has some mobility issues after a stroke, managed these safely. The bathroom for the double room had an open shower with a small step in and……

“We had the best week in Scotland and will definitely return. The location of the property is fabulous. The scenery and wildlife were amazing. The Pine Martens came every night for the jam butties and eggs we put out for them. We even saw a Golden Eagle flying overhead. Walk down the path towards the Castle and there are seals on the rocks. Paula could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Sorry we could only stay for a week .”

“This delightful cottage made the perfect base for exploring the Isle of Skye, with it being just 20 minutes from the Skye Bridge. It is situated on the shores of Loch Long and very peaceful without being too isolated. The view from the kitchen and lounge over the loch to mountain beyond alone made this one of my most memorable trips.”

“We had a week here in September (10-17th) and loved every minute. We saw otters from the shore one day and did walks in every direction from the house. The weather treated us quite kindly and we managed to be outdoors for a good part of each day without getting (too!) wet. The house was so comfortable and well set up it was always a pleasure to return to. We slept so well too…all the fresh air and a super comfy bed. A great location for exploring Skye and the Glenelg area too.”

“Had a really good stay here with the family. It was definitely a true Scottish experience having to use the woodburner to heat the lounge and great that the cottage was up together but traditional. It wasn’t overly modernised but not dated either. Would definitely return. Well positioned for many good walks.”

Excellent, central location to explore Highlands and Islands region of Scotland. Very clean comfortable cottage/bungalow on the waters edge, spectacular views, private tranquil location, excellent kitchen for self catering. Carrie was a wonderful host, very responsive to texts, and the only disappointment was that we never met her in person to express our appreciation for……

“Large spacious and cosy house. Wonderful scenery around the village, the gateway to the Isle of Skye 20 minutes away, and what feels like the only chocolaterie in the whole of Scotland within walking distance. Of course, as almost everywhere in the Highlands, you should have a car with you, as public transport is not as frequent as you might be used to in cities.”
