"Room was filthy, stained sheets and pillows. The breakfast was disgusting, no drinks other then water. And they put oranges in said water and it tasted like pinesole. The pool was closed completely. Staff was useless. We reported issues with the room when we first arrived. Broken door lock, shower curtain rod ripped out of wall, couldn't change tv channel. No one bothered to come try and fix anything. I will never stay at this cheap ass run down hotel. I've had better stays at motel 6 on the side of highways then this place. Oh and before i forget, no one even came to change out garbage bags. We stayed for a weekend and the only reason trash was taken out was because we took it down to the dumpster. And they couldn't even be bothered to come do a turn down and remake the beds or change out towels. So yeah no thank you about this bs place. "

"I picked this place without checking the reviews which was a mistake - the many bad reviews seem justified - they gave me two full beds instead of a king bed that I reserved; the door security guard fell to the floor as soon as I opened the door (I put it back on but needs fixing) - room seemed to smell a bit probably from smoking. the soap dispenser was empty so I used body soap from the bathroom. "

"The room was comfortable, clean, staff friendly, very convenient location. The only complaint is that there was no closet, no hangers, that was inconvenient and don't understand the purpose. Otherwise all great. Breakfast and especially the coffee were great and well done."

"The rooms have been upgraded with a fresh coat of paint and modern linens. But, there is a persistent odour like damp mold. We kept the fan on overnight to help with air circulation. When checking-in we heard that the cops were being called for some guests who were partying and fighting. We asked to be situated in a quiet part of the property, and that was accommodated. Ken, the front desk assistant, was kind and professional. He reassured us that the property was safe, based on this 15 years there. He even gave us two bottles of water from his own stash because we checked-in quite late. Thanks so much, Ken!"

Clarion Hotel Conference Center on Lake Erie

8/10 Good

"This is the only hotel I stay in when visiting Dunkirk. The property is old, but kept clean and maintained well. The rooms are large and views of Lake Erie are a nice amenity. There are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms which is not on par with other hotels in the area. For me this is the major downside. I do like the staff who are always very kind and helpful."
