"We really enjoyed staying in a real house in a real neighborhood for our trip to Kyoto. There was plenty of room for our small family, and we felt we had a more authentic visit to this beautiful city. A couple things to note for those who read reviews is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow, and I worried for my husband navigating them in the dark at night. "The Four Seasons kyoto is an exceptional, brand-new hotel that exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, everything felt pristine and thoughtfully designed. The rooms are gorgeous—spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable, with an attention to detail that truly sets this property apart. Cleanliness is impeccable throughout the hotel. Breakfast was outstanding—fresh, beautifully presented, and one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had in Japan. The ofuro in the spa is divine—a serene, deeply relaxing experience and the perfect way to unwind after exploring the beautiful garden with beautiful shrine and koi fish. We genuinely loved every second of our stay. Four Seasons kyoto has raised the bar and is now one of our favorite hotels anywhere. We cannot wait to return."
