The breakfast was a Japanese bento box, with a variety of items. The property was in excellent shape and the staff was awesome. This was a real Japanese experience.

Definitely stay here!

Perfect place to stay with access to Gion. Love the onsen ritual morning and evening. Love the shows and Yukata. Wonderful experience. Amazing service.

Stunning hotel

Hotel was brilliant, loved the way the room was styled. We didn’t end up using our free drinks as we were out all day but appreciated the thought! Staff were really helpful - we had to make a phone call and the receptionist called for us in Japanese. Great location, handy for Gion but also the hub of Kyoto and close to the shops.

I would definitely stay here again. Sorry it was only for one day. Staff was very friendly. Arrived early before checkin and they accept my bags so we can go sightseeing. Hotel and room very clean and safe. Very good location close to train station, great shopping area and close attractions. Highly recommend!

I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. From the welcome drinks on the rooftop bar with a foot bath after a long day walking around Kyoto, to the exceptional staff, this was a great choice. After we left the hotel and were on our way back to Tokyo, we realized we had left our valuables in the room’s safe. The hotel contacted us and were able to overnight our things to us in Tokyo, for which we are very grateful! Great location and centrally located.

Highly recommend!

Foot spa at the roof top and happy hour (4-6:30pm) is a perfect way to wrap up your day after a long day of walking and before you head out for dinner. There are two open-air spa areas, which get swapped for female and male daily. I was surprised their coffee machine has so many drink options and random fact- carbonated water out of the machine was surprisingly really good and refreshing! They also provide free popsicles.

Excellent Hotel near many Kyoto Attractions

A truly beautiful hotel. The staff was excellent and had many English speakers, which helped me greatly. The onsens were always in great shape. The hot foot bath on the rooftop was a lifesaver at the end of each day exploring Kyoto. The room rate was very reasonable, about $125 USD/night. For a comparable hotel in my area of the US, you'd be looking at $300+/night.

Above and beyond expectations

Amazing stay. Now one of my favorite hotels in Kyoto. Staff was attentive and friendly, amenities were amazing from the open air onsen to the rooftop terrace, rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. And it was easy to access transportation or walk to major areas. Just wow. Will definitely be making it a point to stay again if I'm able.

Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! Rooms were very nice, extremely small but as expected for the area. The rooftop bar with foot bath sounded like a gimmick at first but ended up being really nice! Onsen was great, too, and the tattoo covers offered at reception were very convenient. It was a little annoying that breakfast needed to be ordered so far in advance, and the laundry facilities weren’t great. The provided yukata were pretty small but a nice touch; they offer a larger size if you ask, but even that is on the smaller side.
