Samuka Island Resort is a GREAT place to stay, but one has to be aware of both the environment AND what it take to get there.

Great spot for a proposal :-)
This is a very nice spot on a secluded island in Lake Victoria just outside the source of the (White) Nile about 20 min by boat. The place is a little rustic so if you’re looking for 4 - 5 Star accommodation this isn’t it but if you’re happy with a little less then you will enjoy this place and peacefulness. Lot’s of bird life and monitor lizards along the shoreline. Everything comes in by boat so the menu options may be limited but they will do their best. The swimming pool was in need of cleaning when we were there but they were on that as we left. The best part of the stay was definitely the team that looks after you while you are there. The sunrise and sunset are beautiful and if there are storms then you have an amazing from row seat to the lightning. It was a beautiful spot for an engagement (bring your own champagne and they will chill and serve it for you).
