“everything was great ”

“Breakfast was good, rooms were nice and new, staff was friendly. The bed was comfy, but the room we were in had pretty loud HVAC. It took a while to fall asleep as it had a low whine consistently. Otherwise no issues. ”

“We were greeted by a large private security guard who stared us down and blocked our entrance to the front desk to check in! Not the experience we were expecting. It felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. I felt like if I would have said anything the guard would have stopped me and made me leave. Apparently, this is the new protocol for Hilton hotels in Iowa City.. You have to get by a large serious guard just to check in. The front desk clerk didn't make it any better. “The breakfast was good but go early because not all items are refilled. The floor of the tub/shower in our room need to be resurfaced as parts of the surface appeared to be peeling. The bottles of soap and shampoo in the shower were empty. The TV in our room kept buffering and the sound would randomly fade in and out. The area off the elevator needed to be vacuumed and the trash by the ice maker was overflowing. Neither were cleaned during our two days at the property. We were told that……

“My week-long stay in Coralville was great. The room was quiet and clean. The location was convenient for me, visiting a family member at nearby Summit. The best part of the stay was the service provided by the staff, who were friendly and helpful. The night clerk helped me with a very late check-in and greeted me on my return each night. “Iowa Nice” for sure. Many thanks, and I will return on my next visit to Coralville.”

Friendly, helpful staff, super-clean rooms, and the interior was remade with such love and care for history, such that the halls are lined with so many fascinating artifacts and stories from the past that it ranks nearly as a museum.
