“Stayed here for a show at SPAC with my dad. The property was perfect for our needs; 2 bedrooms, clean, good amenities, and it was a quiet and peaceful location. No traffic noise, nice large yard with a fire pit and awesome gas grill. It was nice staying in a quieter area but still close to Saratoga and the concert venue.”

“We had a great stay at the South Shore Retreat House! Fully accommodated our family of 12 adults and six children. We were hosting a party at Tinney's Tavern in Lake Desolation and the South Shore House was a perfect place to retreat to at the end of the evening! Kyle was super responsive to any questions we had. Highly recommend !”

“The house is great! The house is off the main roads but still easy to get to everything! It had rained a lot and even snowed so ground was super wet, so unfortunately I didn’t get to see much of the spacious property! Check in was easy- communication with owner was great, and the beds were comfy! There are lots of movies, books, and games to keep you busy if staying in! Fully stocked kitchen was super useful! “We were looking for a quiet, peaceful, lakefront cottage and Firefly Lodge delivered. We enjoyed coffee on the dock every morning and were joined by the ducks and loons. The highlight for us was watching the supermoon rise over the lake. It seemed like you could reach out and touch it. The owners were great and made sure we had no problems. We hope to be able to visit again”

“I can not say enough great things about my stay here with my family!! Perfect location as it was only about 10 minutes to get to the track and not much further to get downtown! The property was immaculate both inside and out and I don't think there's a detail Devon forgot to include! Devon was great at communicating and made the check in and out so simple!! We pulled up and felt welcome right away. We arrived in the evening and all the lanterns and out door lights were so pretty! Inside I found……

“House is in a nice location. The pictures were photoshopped on the listing to make the wood appear to be a more modern wood tone than it actually is. Not a huge deal but definitely something I noticed upon arrival. The bath towels provided by the house were bleach stained. No AC in bedrooms. Plant overgrowth on back deck. Ice maker doesnt work in freezer. Minor issues that could be addressed to provide a nicer experience for guests. Overall the house was not bad and we had a nice stay, but not 5……

“We had a great family week at the Lodge. The house was very comfortable for our party of 5 adults and one child, with three bedrooms and 2 full baths on the top floor and a small fourth bedroom and full bath on the main floor. All of the bedrooms have window air conditioners, but the rest of the rooms in the house are not air conditioned. The main floor also has a large and well-equipped kitchen, large dining area, and living room/den spaces. There are decks off the dining area, off the master……

“Ok, so this was incredible! The house was exactly what we hoped it would be... an awesome vacation lake house! It was clean and the amenities we updated, but it still felt like being in the lake house my parents had when I was little. Wood finish everywhere. Brick fireplace (obviously unused, but cool to look at), 3 decks to watch the sun set over the water, fire pit and a brand new dock where we sat on beach chairs and just listened to the sound of the waves. John was amazing and answered all……

“We stayed here with 4 adults and 5 kids under 6. The house was just big enough and in a very nice neighborhood. A great base to get back and forth to our family in the area!”

“1890s Elegant mansion with great bones and almost completely restored. Pool would be big plus in summer and game room definitely a plus, though some equipment needed repair. Great location for our short family reunion of 6 adults and 3 tweens. Would worry about kids less than 10 or limited mobility folks as stairs quite tight or spirally and high. Does have first floor bedroom but a bit of distance to the single well appointed bath on that floor. Kitchen quite well equipped and even had a wide……

“The house has plenty to offer. Very clean, spacious, great layout and high cielings. Everything is updated and works well. There’s plenty of Victorian charm too. We also enjoyed the yard, outdoor fire pit, making smores with my family. Above the garage was a game room. We played billiard, darts and foosball. Across the street the private beach and dock were convenient. The days were filled with tubing, fishing and swimming. A memorable time was had by all! Thank you Karen for the perfect……
