Well worth diverting off the Hume Hwy.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Well worth diverting from the Hume hwy to stay at Scribbly Gum cottage and explore the beautiful Kangaroo Valley. onveniently located to the lttle village.

Great getaway!

Loved the location of this place - within walking distance e if the main town and historic hampden bridge. The place was welcoming with eggs in the fridge, wine, Lindt balls, marshmallows for a fire and some start up milk ! More than I expected! The house is snug and could have done with just a few more kitchen utensil basics. However for those who are happy to embrace a rustic experience this is the place for you!

Cosy Cabin

Lovely cabin. Very comfy and romantic. Nice outdoor space too and very handy for Kangaroo Valley village. Garden gets very muddy and water logged after rain so take boots.

We really enjoyed our stay because the house was very clean & it had all the amenities we needed. It was very serene & peaceful & we loved sitting on the outdoor porch with our dog Maya. The property was really close to the town & we enjoyed our dinners at The Friendly Inn hotel.

Fantastic, gorgeous little cottage within walking distance of town. Beautiful outlook, with great little fire pit out the back. Amazingly cosy inside making it the perfect stay.

Perfect for two

Absolutely serene location. Horses and sheep next door. Indy the dog an absolute champion. So relaxing and at the same time with all the mod cons required. A great stay and we are recommending it to any couple seeking a few days rest and refuge.

Beautiful Cottage

We had the best time in this beautiful cottage. On arrival a bottle of sparkling wine, some chocolate and eggs awaited us. The cottage has everything you need for a nice weekend or week away. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching our dog run around. Highly recommend!!!

A little getaway

My fiancé and I came here as a last minute getaway when we were given a couple of days off work. We booked 48 hours before we arrived, and even in that amount of time the cottage was booked and set up beautifully. We had gotten engaged that morning, so to arrive to a little home with some extra finishing touches (wine, chocolate etc.) was so special for us.

Eggcellent Stay

We loved our stay at Scribbly Gum cottage. Our two dogs loved going for walks in the back paddock and into town. We even saw a couple of roo’s out the back - very fitting for Kangaroo Valley. The cottage was perfectly sized, and well kitted out. There were more DVD’s than a blockbuster video - although we preferred to enjoy watching the sheep out the window.

MR Rogers review

I booked the property to suprise my wife for a baby moon with expecting our first child In October. Couldn’t recommend the property high enough we had an amazing stay everything was perfect and communication reflect all of the above as well. Would recommend this property to all family and friends back home in Sydney.

Great spot of Rustic nostalgia

Easy to find close to Kangaroo Valley township and cafes - a step back in time - nicely renovated but basic cottage- great to have the coffee machine first thing in the morning. Loved being able to have our 2 year old Jack Russell with us, kangaroos in back paddock and a wombat nearby. The fire pit was great out the back to have nibbles and a glass of bubbles or wine- The bed was very comfy and we didn’t encounter the micro bats thankfully.

A really nice experience

What a treat to be able to stay in a piece of Australian history! The cabin is cozy and has pretty much everything you need/want for a short stay. I have to admit that I didn't try to cook breakfast on the one cooking plate. The location is great, the sky that night was AMAZING - dark site meant you could actually see the milky way! Thank you for the gifts - and I am sorry about the sash window! .... oh - and there was no sign of Barry !

Rustic in a quiet location

We looked forward to our stay here and while our stay was comfortable, there were a few things that threw us off. Let's start with the positive. The WIFI was excellent, the ability to watch wildlife in the evening was amazing, seeing Barry (the local bat and his friends who do live in the attic) was fun and the size of the cabin was just perfect. The walk into town was exactly 1.5 miles and you never heard road noise or farm animals during your stay. I am bummed we missed the goats. The few negatives that I would add are the ad makes it seem rustic but very modern inside. That is only true for the bathroom shower. Also, they say they pride themselves in cleanliness and I would say you will have to realize that you are staying in a old cabin on a farm. Cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere, mouse poop in the kitchen area (this was not bat poop from Barry getting in.), stains on the bathroom walls and our sheets seemed off. The windows didn't shut all the way, the doors had gaps at the bottom and the screen didn't shut on the front door so you couldn't leave it open for airflow without bugs, flies and mosquitos getting in during the evening. Lastly, sometimes the workers that are there will block the driveway to get into your place. This was odd, but we were able to work with it. These things are more of a for your information so as not to be surprised like us. Let's end on a high note. This is a chicken farm and so they leave you a dozen eggs which are delicious! They also leave you a bottle of sparkling and some chocolate. Those were nice welcome gifts. The property management company is very fast in responding to anything you need and communicating with the owners if need be. In closing. We enjoyed our stay but couldn't give it 5 stars.
