2 week old baby Red Colobus Monkey. Day trips to Jozani are very straight forward. In Stone Town, tours can be booked at the old fort. November is storm season, but it is also Spring here, so there are lots of young creatures around. You have to take a local guide from the Forest information centre and you get walked through the forest. This is not a bad thing, as there are a load of side paths and no signage, so I think getting lost would be pretty straight forward. The other good thing about a network of guides on the ground, is that they find the monkeys easily, meaning you get to spend more time with them, rather than looking for them.

「Facility-wise, zLife is probably the best hostel I've stayed at. I stayed in the 4-bed dorm and we had a big, well-equipped bathroom to ourselves, a nice view and comfortable beds. Be warned that it's warm (even in their winter) and sleeping on the top bunk was hard going for the others in my dorm, as there was only a floor fan. Breakfast was a bit slow (but that's typical) and you can use the kitchen facilities yourself if you like. Location was absolutely ideal and it was a great bargain for a...
