A quaint, clean 100% smoke-free property with beautiful ocean views available as a short-term vacation rental to responsible adults looking for a nice place to stay while taking in all that Ketchikan and southeast Alaska has to offer. Explorers Cottage is on our property (separate, not connected), yet you will still have the privacy of having your own place. Enjoy the comforts of your own home away from home.

Located north of town and is 10 minutes from Wal-Mart (easy shopping), close proximity to Clover Pass, Knudson Cove (boat rentals, charters, etc...) and Settlers Cove (hiking, photography, etc..). Also, just a few steps away from your front door is the beach cove perfect for kayaking, bonfires, photography, and seashell collecting.

To make your stay comfortable, the cottage has a pillow-top queen size bed, gas fireplace, heat and cool air unit, and a great kitchen with basic items to get you started. Also, enjoy the seasonal herb greenhouse, rain shower-head/stone shower, laundry room on site (outside basement entry), and the essentials you need to feel right at home.

After perusing all that Ketchikan has to offer, relax on the ocean view deck and unwind at the end of your day. We also provide a selection of movies/dvd's, basic cable, books, and games for your entertainment pleasure. A Bible is available for those who like to start out their day with quiet time with God. Beautiful Views
The cottage was clean and cozy and had everything you would need for your stay. The views are amazing, and the deck is a great place to BBQ and take in the views. The hosts were very communicative. I will definitely be coming back.

Perfect Peacefulness
This was our first trip to Alaska. Since I travel for work and spend a great deal of time in hotels, we wanted a peaceful retreat for our week in Ketchikan. WE FOUND IT! The Explorer's Cottage is a quaint and stunning home away from home. We truly relaxed and felt so comfortable during our stay. Scott and Amanda have obviously spent a great deal of time considering the possible needs of the guests. The area is quiet and within a reasonable driving distance to a store for quick pick-up items. We were able to come and go without any difficulty. We walked the beach in front during low tide and took the kayaks out for a little adventure. The excellent quality washer and dryer were nice since we went fishing and needed to clean our clothes afterward. I would highly recommend this property to any adult couple looking for a private get-away.

Heaven on Earth!
This cottage exceeded our expectations, mostly because of the spectacular view! The listing pictures don’t do it justice. The cottage is so cozy yet ample space for 2 people. They have everything you need and MORE! There are lots of kitchen pantry staples provided plus they will let you know before arrival what other basic foods they provide (bread, butter, etc). The kayaks were a very fun activity right off the beach in front of the cottage! And what did we see while kayaking out front of the cottage? A whale!!! So much to see and do on the island but even if you just stayed and lounged at the cottage would be enough! Many thanks to the kind and hospitable hosts! Be back soon!

Amazing Ketchikan Cottage!
The cottage exceeded our expectations! Views of the water were fantastic! We saw several cruise ships right out our window during our stay. Scott and Amanda were fantastic hosts. They provided tips on some of Ketchikan's hidden treasures and even started us off with some food and spice items. Overall we had a great vacation! Definitely would stay here again.

Serene Hineymoon Getaway
After being so pleasantly greeted by the owners of the proprrty, we realized how comfortable and peaceful our stay would be. Explorer's Cabin was just the place to top off our lovely honeymoon in ketchikan. We had a lovely view of the water and got the chance to beach comb and look at tide pools roght in the backyard! Highly recommended to anyone wanting a comfortable, peaceful, beautiful honeymoon stay in ketchikab.
