“The Shikitei is right on the edge of Nara Park - essentially it is in the park. In terms of position it couldn't be better. It had all the comforts of a ryokan including a great onsen bath,, and wonderful staff. I can't recommend it more highly.”

“This is a great way to experience an “authentic” ryokan - it has bathroom facilities but otherwise it’s futon, tatami matting and green tea. But the best feature by far was the ‘ofuro’ the delightful hot bath. A booking gets a guest 50 minutes of calm relaxation. Remember that there are no meals but there are plenty of small local places for dinner and breakfast. Just delightful!”

“It’s a really wonderful experience of staying in Nara for one night. The position just next to the subway is convenient enough that we can meander around the city immediately after check in. The staff is friendly and hospitable , he led us to the room with hot match tea, and we got a tea souvenir the next day. The public outside onsen is also the highlight, we enjoy very much with Kasuaga hotel and hope we would visit again soon in the future!”
