Our stay at the Chalet could have been improved if further attention to detail can be given to the overall maintenance/house keeping, and if better local support was available to us. First off, it is conveniently located near the lake front, shops, and ski resorts. The unit itself is specious and the layout works for our party of 4 people. The king size bed is very comfy. However, here are things we found lacking/failing:
1) No welcome handbook or instruction manual, so we had to figure out on our own about the thermostat (which turns out not controlling any heater but just there as a thermometer), and how to turn on the fireplace, which is the only heat source for the living & dining area.
2) Fireplace Remote batteries were dead. When we arrived it was 25C outside, and only 41C inside the unit as the thermostat read. We had a hard time figuring out how to turn on the heat. The remote for the fireplace was not labeled and had no working batteries inside! We thought worth a try to replace with new batteries and it worked! However, we had a very cold couple hours when we first got there due to unable to turn on heat. We contacted Vacasa and was told local staff would get in touch but never did until the next morning.
3) Used coffee pod still inside the Kuerig machine when we arrived.
4) There is a dish washer but no detergent is provided. We hand washed all of our dishes, even though the check out instructions asked us to “load and start the dishwasher” prior to checking out.
5) Bathroom sink missing a stopper.
6) Tub faucet was crossed wired - cold water if handle turned to the left and hot water if right.
7) We got 4 bath towels and one hand towel for our party of 4. We wish there were some wash cloths or enough hand towels for everyone in our party.
8) Inside bedroom above the TV there is a WiFi teetering device mounted on the wall. It glows off and on to indicate signals but was becoming really annoying at night when we tried to sleep.
9) On the listing description as well as the interior photos, it says there are 2 sofa beds, but in fact there is only one. Did not affect our stay but just to point out the discrepancy of the listing.
Most of all, whenever we contacted Vacasa for questions, we always got a courtesy response back saying that a local staff would get in touch. But where is this local property manager? We hardly heard back or if we did that one time over the fireplace issue, it was over 12 hours later.
