"We had low expectations because of the reviews, but this place exceeded them and was honestly one of our best stays in Iceland—and this was our 5th stay. We were confused by the bad reviews. Yes, it was expensive, but so is everything in Iceland!
Our room was sufficiently spacious. We had all our luggage, shoes, and bags and still had room to move around. Having a sink in the room was super helpful for getting water, washing our hands/face, and brushing our teeth without leaving the room. It was small, but come on, this isn’t our home!
The bathrooms were clean. Someone mentioned the curtains, but we thought they were good enough, especially since we’re conservative about privacy/exposure. They were much better than another place we stayed where there were no curtains or doors whatsoever.
The biggest highlight was breakfast. We couldn’t understand the complaints. Of the 6 places we stayed in Iceland, this was only 1 of 2 that provided free breakfast. As vegetarians, we skipped the meat, but still got 2 slices of bread, a croissant, whole apple, boiled egg, juice box, cucumber, cheese, Skyr, 3 cereal options, coffee, tea, and milk. It was more than enough—we had leftovers both days, and they happily gave us little bags to take them.
We noticed almost everyone left a slice or two of bread, egg, or apple, which says a lot about the portions.
Overall, this place deserved an honest review. We genuinely enjoyed our stay!"
"Property was clean and newer construction , road in was fine in the rain with a 2W drive car. (Another guest suggested it might be an issue). Very peacefull location, attendent was quick to help with code box issues."
"Location, ambience, rooms and restaurants were outstanding:
We are really happy that we booked the place. The rooms were good size and clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Free parking and next to our room:
Definitely recommend people to stay and we had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and the food was amazing."
"Excellent breakfast included and beautiful views. We stayed for 2 nights and our room did not get cleaned up with towels changed. It seems this is not the service level in Iceland; however, the property grounds are very nice and we had a good time. We lived the expresso machine coffee!"
"A super place to stay with a full kitchen that actually is functional. The room is small but the view makes it 💯! Staff very friendly and accommodating!"
"A wonderful location with its own waterfall and bridge walk. The host was extremely helpful with suggestions, directions and made our stay easy and enjoyable. I would not hesitate to stay there again."
