The staff was friendly and professional! The hired personnel really makes this place! The rooms are a little dated but it just adds to the charm of the experience. I enjoyed staying here and would recommend! The women onsen was also great and super relaxing!

Great location, friendly staff. Enjoyed daily welcome drinks. However the hotel needs a good refresh. Carpet in the hallways were worn and stained. Shower curtain in our room was very mouldy.
Hotspring was very nice. I didnt stay due to the skiing aspect. But they are well equipped for it. Great quality of food for their breakfast and supper buffets. The staff were very kind even though i dont speak a lot of japanese.
Amazing buffet for dinner and breakfast. We hadn’t ordered the half board in advance, but paid for the dinner buffet on site and it was well worth it. One of the best buffets we’ve seen in Japan so far, and it included a great selection of alcoholic drinks!
Comfort hotel with Onsen…
Restaurant not much choice and food was delicious 😋
Carpark is next building of the hotel

This is a somewhat old hotel which hasn’t seen much renovation. Old style furniture, slight musty smell, etc. Location was not super convenient, and you definitely need a car. Meals were just ok, buffet style with good variety but nothing worth the price.
All in all, it was an ok hotel, but for the price I paid I could have stayed somewhere much nicer.
My son was injured by an old drawer with a splinter into his toe. There was no first-aid kit and most staff doesn't seem to be concerned.

I have stayed at many places like this in Japan. The concept is this: innovative operator takes over aging property and invests in upgrading the three key touchpoints - reception/lounge area + dining area + public bath. The rest is maintained at a bare minimum. I don't come to a place like this wandering the halls and stairwells looking for stained carpet or cracks in the walls. I want to eat well, soak in the hot springs, and relax in stylish surroundings. This place delivers. The bath is big and well designed. The lounge is nice, and the complementary drinks and snacks are well appreciated. The dining / breakfast area excellent, and I was quite surprised with the breakfast buffet - far surpassed my expectations. I will return next time to do more trekking, so this will be where I stay.
Overall the stay was ok. They had free hot tea which was great when it was so cold out, but the room was very dated. Also, (just FYI) the hotel staff doesn't speak much English and you need a dinner reservation if you want to eat at the hotel- becides a little restaurant near the back of the hotel (which was good!)
