Based on the photo I had seen, I expected the Cerulean Hotel to be a 19th-century-era three-story in a small town. Klamath Falls isn’t small: entering from the south on 39, I passed through miles of commercial strip before finally arriving at the old downtown, and the traffic was pretty heavy. And the “hotel” turned out being a very ordinary motel in layout, with multiple two-story wings and probably ~100 rooms. My room departed from the usual, though. No carpet, which made it seem a bit sterile, but also helped insure against vermin. A full kitchen, with fridge, smooth-top range, etc. An exceptionally modern, nice bathroom. The glass bath/shower doors were so clean that I bumped my head on one of them.
