「What a gorgeous location! I woke up to the most lovely sunrise. The hotel staff was very welcoming, but I didn't find the hotel as modern and updated as I had expected. There's a lovely early 20th century vibe, but I wanted a 21st century lodging.」

「Room was clean and comfortable. Requires climbing a long exterior staircase. We had booked a ferry crossing from Mallaig to Lochboisdale. An hour before checkout, the woman cooking our breakfast told us the ferries were cancelled due to weather and that there were no rooms here or anywhere else in the town. We asked if we could leave our bags at the Chlachain after checkout while we went to the ferry terminal for more information. She said no, we would have to take them to a luggage storage down...

「The hotel is a few minutes walk from Mallaig train station, and the ferry terminal. There are two supermarkets and a few restaurants around the village so that one can easily get refreshments. I was amazed that the hotel is in a delicate traditional wooden decor, and has a relaxing garden terrace. I also enjoyed the window view a lot! The room was clean and it’s reception was excellent. I strongly recommend anyone who plan to visit any Hebrides islands, give the hotel a chance,.」
