The bones of the hotel is beautiful, it’s safe, centrally located, the staff is very helpful. There are extras like clean bottled water etc. The 3rd floor restaurant is fabulous and affordable. 👍 The upkeep and basics of the hotel were poor. The lovely glass shower had moldy caulking, the door didn’t close so water got all over the bathroom. The sink leaked and had to be repaired. The fan was coated in dirt. They were super stingy w toilet paper to the point of stranding me once 😳. They only gave two worn bath towels… no hand towels or face cloths… even if you asked for more. They took the 2 bath towels to launder each morning and must not have enough stock to replace… so they had to wash/dry and return late in day. So often we were without any towels throughout the day. The bed was not plush… so firm and without padding my back got sore. It was advertised as 5-Star, but clearly it wasn’t - at least by western standards.

Not a Hilton property but it was ok, other properties were full so had no choice, Rooms were ok large and mostly clean. Bathrooms need some TLC lots of black mould on the edges , water pressure good, hot water was good. My room had issues with water slipping thru the glass door and soaking the bath mat, surprised no one noticed this, forgot to mention to the front desk. No mini refrigerator in the room , in my case had to go to the restaurant for ice 2 times a day to keep my medication cool. 3rd floor rest was really good with the service and food. Ground floor was the breakfast area and basically had the same food daily for breakfast mostly South Indian with cereal bread and omelets . Center of the main area with small shops around.

Generally a good hotel, with a decent attached restaurant. Unfortunately smack in the centre of the busiest part of what has also become a dangerously overcrowded tourist town.

The exhaust fan in the room made a broken motor boat sound all night. Very bad odour all over the place, you’ll need a odonil. Reception staff are just rude, they always have an excuse for not providing a service that you’re entitled to. Reception staff are very disrespectful.

The property location is good. It is a fairly quiet and clean Hotel. The buffet can be improved. Staff is very helpful and well mannered. Bed is comfortable. The showers and Hot water excellent. Overall stay was good.

Cheats! Confirmed booking gets overturned

Have booked the hotel on the weekend and paid in full in advance, received a confirmation from Expedia stating that the booking is confirmed with the hotel with a confirmation code. On reaching the hotel around 7.30 pm after a long 9 hours drive with a small child, was informed that they are fully sold out and Expedia is at fault for taking the booking. Best is that when you call Expedia, the calls goes into finding an agent for 10 minutes, then an another 30 minutes on hold while they are trying to contact hotel; and then apologizing that nothing can be done and the call getting transferred to relocation team for providing alternate hotel. Till this, I respect the efforts taken by Expedia but things take a worse when the relocation team just keeps you on hold, trying to recheck the issue and hangs up that someone from relocations will call soon. No calls after that and we were left stranded in cold Kodaikanal, left to finding a hotel on our own!!! These Hamuse guys are selling directly for higher rates and cheats! Expedia’s support in need is abominable. Will never book through Expedia. Payment is yet to be refunded.

centre of town

Comfortable place to return to after a busy day exploring the area. Close to the lake and great eating places. Food was also,great at the hotel. Still a few teething issues as the hotel is new and front desk doesn't respond to requests but that will improve with time. All in all a very enjoyable stay
