Absolutely loved our stay at Secret Garden and honestly struggled to find anything to fault. We stayed in one of the poolside bungalows which was incredibly spacious, spotless and set in such a beautiful, relaxing setting. Being only around 10 minutes from the airport made transfers so easy, but once you’re there it still feels peaceful and tucked away. The food was some of the best we had during our Thailand trip and the atmosphere in the evenings was lovely too — live music, themed food nights, unlimited tacos, happy hour… it always felt like there was something going on without ever being too busy or loud. Also a special mention for the hotel dog, who completely stole my heart and may or may not have received a saved rasher of breakfast bacon every morning. Would happily stay here again.

The property location left a lot to be desired. There was near constant jet noise as the hotel was almost directly under the flight path of the jets coming and going from the airport. There is nothing to do in the surrounding area so you will need to rent a motorcycle or take a taxi to and from the hotel. A ride just a short distance was US $10 one way. That was to a nice beach. The hotel beach was very steeply sloping and not very wide. Upon arrival I was told that there would be a live band at the beach bar/restaurant 3 nights a week. I told the manager that I had come there for peace and quiet. This live music as so loud and blaring that I could clearly hear the words and tell what song was being played while inside my room. This went on for 5 hours each time !! Once they stopped, that’s when you could hear the boom boom boom of the music from just down the street. That lasted uno2am every night even though there were no customers. (I went to 7/11 late at night) The internet was absolutely awful. I kept getting kicked off the server and one time it took 3 1/2 hours to get the site I wanted loaded. Only to be kicked off again. If by some chance I got online, there was constant buffering. Just awful wi-fi. One last thing. The property entrance is bolted shut at night. You had better bring your phone so you have a flashlight to figure out how to unlatch it. I would never stay there again.

You NEED to stay here

Couldn't recommend this hotel enough - our favourite stay in the whole of thailand. Amazing staff, amazing food, rooms are even more beautiful than the pictures, RIGHT on the beach and the best doggy ever 💕

Secret Garden

Pleasant, quiet, hotel right on the beach. Breakfast was expensive. Room was comfortable, Wi-Fi worked well. Nice beach, small pool, excellent staff.

The Secret Garden is a gem, with beautifully kept grounds, and pool. Our poolside bungalow was unique and spacious. The restaurant/bar with live entertainment is an asset. And being steps away from the beach was wonderful. Highly recommend.

Resort and accommodations are pretty good. However, the beach view from YouTube looks great. However, once you are there, you can see that the beach is very polluted and you will not be able to bathe in the beach. You will be exploring other places to visit for some beach.

Great location and room, a little loud at night

We stayed here for a night after our ferry back from Koh Phangan. Location is great. Just 2 minutes down the road from Big Buddha pier and 10 minutes from the airport. Really clean, spacious room and friendly staff, especially the man at reception who was incredibly helpful. The food at the restaurant was fairly decent, although the included breakfast was a little small. The main issue we had was the noise and music from nearby at night - we could hear people on the beach/near our room by the pool very clearly which was a bit annoying. Overall though a great little place on the beach, would definitely recommend for a short stay.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an amazing stay at Secret Garden Beach Resort in Koh Samui! The room was beautiful, modern, and very private, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant had delicious, reasonably priced food, and if you want to explore, there are plenty of other great eating options nearby, including convenience stores like 7-Eleven just steps away. The beach is absolutely stunning, with easy access right from the resort. The front desk helped us book day trips to nearby islands, making everything smooth and hassle-free—they know which piers to use and provide good prices, which is such a time-saver. While I would have loved kayak rentals nearby, and jet skis and hydroboards are pricey (though fun to watch!), the massages were very reasonable, and the pool is cute, even if most people will spend their time on the beach. The hotel decor is gorgeous, and walking through the property feels like stepping into a lush, peaceful oasis. The bathrooms were beautiful, and the free breakfast was excellent—no need to pre-order, just enjoy it when you’re ready. The staff went above and beyond, including helping my group get to a day trip on short notice, which was amazing. The casual, relaxed vibe of the resort makes it feel welcoming and stress-free. Overall, this resort offers great value, stunning beach access, excellent food, and amazing staff. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Samui!
