This “world bazaar on the waterfront” has shops, restaurants and museums.

Situated in the south of the Kowloon peninsula, Tsim Sha Tsui, known by expats as TST, is one of the city’s most prosperous areas. It’s characterised by its glitzy shopping strips, up-scale hotels and high-rise office towers.

The unending stretch of brand-name stores, market stalls and independent boutiques make Tsim Sha Tsui a shopper’s paradise. Simply walking along Nathan Road, locally known as the “Golden Mile,” is an experience as tailors, restaurateurs and jewelers compete for attention alongside glittering luxury goods and electronics. There are plenty of malls nearby, such as The One, where you can shop for high-end labels and global brands in air-conditioned comfort.

Take the short walk from Nathan Road to Canton Road where you’ll find a seemingly endless strip of designer label outlets, including Chanel's flagship Asian store and one of the largest Louis Vuitton stores in Asia. There’s also the enormous Harbour City, Hong Kong’s biggest shopping mall with over 450 stores.

To the east, you’ll find plenty of waterfront bars and restaurants where you can rest your feet and enjoy a coffee or lunch overlooking the busy waters of Victoria Harbour.

Take a stroll along the nearby Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, starting at the colonial-era Clock Tower. The promenade offers some of the city’s best views of the Hong Kong Island skyline across the harbour.

Tsim Sha Tsui is close to many of Hong Kong’s museums and cultural attractions, including the Hong Kong Space Museum and the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Those in search of high-end accommodation will also find plenty to choose from here, with several five-star hotels offering panoramic views of the harbour.

The Star Ferry port close to the promenade is the best way to reach Tsim Sha Tsui from Hong Kong Island, or you can reach the area from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station.
