We had an amazing stay at Sorobon! Awesome location right on the beach, the rooms are so clean and the beds are super comfy!! Staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Would definitely stay again :)

Wonderful location, perfect for windsurfing in easy, safe conditions, beautiful views of the lagoon on a lovely beach. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Without a car the dining options in the evening were limited, with just the beach bar open.

This a great place to stay, but make sure you rent a vehicle. The food at the Reef Bar is pretty bad especially considering what they charge. I’m very glad we did not opt to go for the all inclusive package. The beach is small and kind of crowded but the lagoon itself is gorgeous. Waste deep water for as far as you can walk. It’s a great place to learn how to windsurf.

Amazing stay

very helpful and gentle personnell. Some peciliar things like we had to pick up coffee capsules og dish washing tablets from the reception every day. On the day of leaving where the plain left in the evening we were asked to pay 20 dollars to stray on the beach, which we found unreasonable an denied.

Amazing location on Lac Bai. Excellent for windsurfing and snorkeling. New owners have done a fabulous job of updating and renovating the chalets. The restaurant was not available during our stay but to be completed in a couple of months. The breakfast was not as good as in previous visits which was disappointing because buffet has been excellent.

Ce qui a plu : Proximité immédiate de la plage et du spot de planche à voile. Ce qui a déplu : le mauvais état des installations ainsi que leur manque d’entretien, traces de moisissures dans la salle de bain, ménage qu’un jour sur deux dans la chambre, le petit déjeuner très moyen… Peu ou pas de service proposé ; pas de restaurant tous les jours. Le tout à un prix élevé !

De huisjes zijn erg eenvoudig en wat gedateerd zeker gezien de prijzen.Tussen slaapkamer en badkamer met toilet zit alleen een gordijn. Niet prettig voor de privacy. Wel schoon verder. Je komt hier echt voor de locatie en het windsurfen. De plek, op het strand, is super en uniek. Restaurant heeft alleen prijzig a la carte en geen buffet of wok avonden meer zoals voorheen. Buiten de deur eten is dus noodzakelijk en daar heb je zeker een huur auto voor nodig. Het blijft een hele fijne plek. Lunch op Sorobon is buitengewoon goed met uitstekende bediening en leuke sfeer.

Wonderful choice for a vacation in Bonaire. One of few hotels with a natural beach. Beachfront chairs/lounges with a gorgeous view of the water and windsurfers. Centrally located for exploring the entire island. Good breakfast provided. Staff was very helpful in answering any and all questions. A beautiful pool also available nearby.

After a poor first impression, (flight delay resulting in late arrival and finding the reception, restaurant and bar closed) things picked up. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and the wind died down a little which meant our kids could have the windsurfing lessons we had gone for. This is not a luxury hotel by any means but it is quiet and right on the beach and totally relaxed. I would definitely go back even though it took for days to get the fridge in my room working!

Tired and Run-Down Property

Based on the website my husband and I booked 2 nights at Sorobon. A few days before our scheduled arrival we had on opportunity to stop by the property. WOW, the wesite pictures were deceiving! This property is run-down and dated! We were able to see the 'suite with kitchenette' that we were to stay in - the porch was rather decrepit and dark, the room was a sparcely furnished camp style room (I believe the bathroom door was a curtain) and the kitchenette consisted of a small, old refridgerator and a shelf of mismatched dishes! To be fair, there was a small plastic electric water kettle and a french press - however I saw no hotplate, microwave, sink, toaster etc. I can't imagine you could cook a meal here. We had paid $244 per night for this! When we expressed our concerns to the very friendly staff on site, their reply was "we totally understand" and gave me the number for the manger. She would not refund our money as it was a non-refundable reservation because it was made so close to our arrival date. We still chose to stay elsewhere and forfeit our $488. Lesson learned - website photo's might be 25 years old. We travel a lot and book all of our accomodations on-line. This was my first real experience of being sadly surprised. I will say if you are family that likes lots of commotion and your kids want to learn to windsurf, this might be an OK option - but is definitely not romantic or worth $244 per night!!

This resort did not manage their listing correctly. I booked a stay online, showed up at resort and was turned away due to overbooking. Left me with no place to go. All accommodations on the island were sold out. Luckily I found a place but it cost me three times the amount I was prepared to spend. It was that or sleep in truck.
