Affordable accommodation and easy walk to the river and to the local sites along the river. Some great restaurants nearby. Rooms not fancy but good value for price. Rooms do need a fridge though to keep the water cold. Only real negative is the noise from within the hotel. Could hear chairs being moved and people talking. You do hear some noise from street but to be expected in this popular area.

Clean & comfortable

Needed a budget place to stay for a 4-week project. Handy location -- 5 minute walk from the landmark Kuching cat fountain. Lots of food & drink options nearby. Lovely friendly staff. Very affordable price. Simple clean room with comfortable bed. It's not listed in the amenities but the room does have an electric kettle and tea cups. Everrise grocery store 1 block away to buy tea. Bring your own toiletries.

Stay here only if you’re desperate.

I had to put a night at this hotel as it was NYE 2018 and most hotels are full. Arrived at mid night but as I got into the room it was not made. Tired and angry I requested for another room and the front desk staffs as not friendly at all. Basically nobody is friendly & really helpful in this hotel.

Three days stay

We've stayed at Padungan before and it's cheap, comfortable and well located. The service of cleaning our room was unasked but absolutely neat and tidy.. Only gripe is the walls can be thin, so you hear families talking as they come and go or people showering. Makes it a bit hard if you're a light sleeper.

Comfortable hotel at good price

I stayed 6 nights at Padungan and I loved it. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the room was comfortable and spacious. There was some dust behind the table, but I doubt most people would notice. Close to some popular eating options. I would stay here again the next time I come to Kuching.

Kopitiam and shops around the hotel and it's rather convenient for me as I prefer that kind of environment instead of high rise hotels that may pose risk in case of emergency.

The place is super new and clean. Very comfortable stay. The hot/ cold shower tap is installed wrong and backwards in my room. Just turn in the right way and don't accidentally get burned.

Nicely located near food and tourist attractions.

We were in a room with 1 queen bed and an extra sofa bed(It is actually a real single bed). The hotels seems to have been renovated recently. Lobby is just for waiting area or chatting with friends. Restaurants and breakfast only a few minutes from hotel. Mostly chinese food but also malay and western breakfast( Hi Bread and Macdonald). Good hotel for 3 to 4 * hotel.

My Kuching Trip!!!!!!

Padungan Hotel is conveniently located at the heart of the town where food were abundantly found to my selection, all within walking distance. If only the housekeeping were diligent in up-keeping the guest room as the new bath towels in my room that were changed everyday - were with patches of light brown stains all over. Also a must to change the bed sheets & comforter every time when the last guest left the hotel as I felt that the bed sheets were recycled - maybe from one night stay guest. The Front Desk staffs are friendly and helpful and overall Padungan Hotel is a good place to stay.

Ett mycket bra alternativ för pengarna. Ett härligt hotell med närhet till Kuchings stadskärna. Trots att hotellet saknade restaurang finns många frukost möjligheter i närområdet.
