Absolutely fantastic experience at the Turisthotell. Super friendly staff, extremely friend and flexible. They allowed me go check in earlier and even made me a breakfast box to go because I had an early check out. Highly recommended to stay here if you’re in town.
Great location in front of the ferry.
Lady who greeted us and checked us in was very nice and helpful.
Room was beautiful with nice views of the bay.
Clean and quiet.
The room was clean and well maintained. The shared washrooms were also very clean. There is also a faucet and sink in the room as well. The staff was helpful as well. The breakfast in general is excellent.
This is one of very few possible stays in Rosendal. As Rosendal is a small town, it was expected that the hotel is less polished. But the hotel is very clean from the inside. However, there will be bugs (flies/gnatts) in the summer.
Don't know if it is a good or bad thing. There were signs saying "This hotel is for sale" during my visit.
Typical norway hotel. The owner is very kind, the breakfast is tasty and the rooms are very clean. The bathroom for share was always filled with fresh towels. The street in front of the hotel has low traffic and the cars drive slow because of speedbumps, we did not recognized it.
The woman who checked us in was excellent. They were very accommodating with our breakfast by packing it to go when we caught the early morning boat to Bergen. However, we left AirPods at the hotel and have had no response in seeing if they could be found and returned. We sent an email to them - no reply. We sent a message through Expedia, but we got no reply. We asked the receptionist at our next hotel to call. She did and spoke to a man who was disinterested, said he would contact us if “someone finds something,” not that he would be proactive and ask. We sent another message through Expedia saying we could send a map where they were pinging. They responded with a number to text to. We texted the map of where it was pinging. No response. Sent another text asking if they had looked. No response. We have tried to contact them for a few days, but still never received an update. The AirPods are still pinging at a building north of the hotel. If they can’t locate them, then that is okay, but they should at least try to find them and communicate with us that they tried and provide an update. We have gotten no further communications from them regarding this matter at all.
Very nice staff, great location (right next to the boat/ferry stop). The breakfast was excellent with great diverse options. The room was very quiet and the one with private bathroom was worth the cost.

Reasonable location
This hotel is in a great location--very basic lodging so don't expect anything too grant but set in a lovely building; probably a bit more expensive than what you get
Basic room without toilet. The sink was leaking. The lock for the common toilet/bathroom did not work. High price of 1700 NOK, and this was not a hotel standard.
Great location for ferry and local bus services. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Loved the breakfast and home made biscuits! Only downside is I could hear laughter and conversation in nearby rooms at night so something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper.
The hotel has a lot of history about it. The renovation did not change that. Current owners are very concerned to maintain the the way it has been in the past. They are great people and very welcoming.
Nice old hotel. Exactly met my expectations. Good meal and great breakfast. friendly staff. BUT it can be hard for me to climb stairs..... the stair were a challenge, but I managed. Sound proofing between the rooms could be improved.
This is a unique property that is somewhere between a hotel, B&B, and hostel. I found it very peaceful with a beautiful view off of the balcony on the second floor. The staff were great...very friendly and helpful. This hotel also has the best food in the area and a great chef. Seriously, I tried them all. Don't waste your time, just eat at the hotel...where many locals do as well and hang around for a nice drink in the back room, which is very cozy. As for setting expectations, the rooms are as advertised and small on US standards with somewhat thin walls, but are clean and the beds were comfortable. Also, as advertised, there are shared bathrooms similar to a hostel, but I did not find it off putting, clean, and fit well with the historic nature of the inn.
What I liked best. I mentioned to the staff that I had planned an early departure for a hike and would miss breakfast. They saw to it a box was set out for me prior to a 4:30 AM departure with a wonderful meal packed so that I got my money's worth and didn't go hungry on my 27km hike that day. That brings me to the area...absolutely stunning beauty in every direction. The hotel is a great option to base yourself from if you are looking to explore and hike the fjords and glacier. You can also head out on a boat, fish, or just do a nice half hour walk past a majestic waterfall and old palace. I also found the town had everything I needed within 100 meters to include grocery store and outdoor adventure store.
